And then you both grew up... you still say the most silly, ridiculous things (at family events) and she still gets annoyed.

You know she hates you, right? :D
Yep. I still do. I guess I should edit my post to say... and then she grew up.

Everyone cares what everyone else thinks. Makes the world go round. If we didn't care, we would all be living in a van down by the river
There are many, that's for sure. But when you can step outside of that and own your own thoughts/beliefs/likes/etc. you find that life can be quite enjoyable.

It's buying status, social proof. Instagram likes, follows, twitter retweets, favorites, etc. I really do wish I lived in a different time.
lol this is about 70% of what my brother does for music artists...........he has a gallardo and a 2010 continental GT

I think you're proving my point, Daddy's Money.
I paid for the mustang 100% by myself. My highschool grades got me a full ride scholarship to college, and I landed a $30/hr internship this past summer where I saved every penny for this car. Now I have a full time job paying very good money. Just because I'm young doesn't mean my parents bought me the car.

status seeking can be very expensive in terms of time, money or health :headbonk:

but as they say, better to look good than to feel good.

A lot of people in that generation will bash a V6 Mustang....then ride away in their civic/prius/FIT/sentra/etc...
Look at it like this, if an V6/EB owner eventually trades up to the GT because of what others have said, what really happens? Well you now have a stronger car, you post it on the forums and everyone says congratulations nice car....then maybe 2-3 of your guy-friends will be like damn nice V8.... then nothing else really special. Other drivers on the road will just see your car and see it as a Mustang not really caring if its a V6/EB/GT.
A Mustang is not a Lamborghini, if you buy a Lamborghini, something special happens, everyones wants to take a picture of it, ride in it, girls want to hang out with you, etc... if you buy a Mustang GT because of an insecurity, your buddy Teddy will want to ride with you.
You sir, speak the truth. The only people that care about EB/V6 vs GT, are mustang guys on the forums.

+ if you have a Lamborghini, you probably don't want to seriously take that interest from gold digging girls

Well it sounds better than the EcoBoost and it isn't a 4 cylinder I guess

I've owned 4 cyl, V6, V8 & V8SC Mustangs. I've loved them all. Nothing wrong with the V6. If you like it better than the 4 or the 8, get it.

Get what you like. Modify it the way you like. Don't care about what others think about your car, you're building it for you.

Have fun!

lol..exhaust was on my car 3 days after i got it. i couldnt imagine waiting till out of warranty to swap it out. the v8 is so muted its pathetic, my buds scat charger sounds amazing from the factory, ford dropped the ball big time on the oem exhaust. and exhaust isnt going to void your warranty but thats a whole other discussion

The main reason I bought the GT were for the V8 sound (which is so muted in this car that you might as well be driving an Accord; I'll swap out the exhaust as soon as I'm out of warranty) .

I think you're proving my point, Daddy's Money.

Also, if you look at my build, I think it's clear I didn't want the V8.

Haha that's awesome. Does he let you drive them? :D
I tried to drive the Gallardo once..........about 10ft into reverse I crashed it into a concrete pillar and caused $5K in damage........I was wayyyyy to tall to properly fit behind the wheel but i tried anyway

to aid in this discussion, how about a poll:

I would rather:

a) buy a Mustang GT to impress the girls. Or the guys on this forum
ok, I might be mocking myself :headbonk:

b) buy a Mustang V6 and drive it until my boss gives me a raise

c) buy a Mustang V6 and invest the extra $10-15k into Ford stock (or your favorite car & oil mutual fund), and earn 4-8% compound growth, basically forever.

d) buy a Mustang V6, because if I bought a GT, my wife would kill me

e) buy a Mustang GT, because my wife drives a (expensive car) and she approves
