27.9 on a 400 mile road trip with 95% highway. Average speed was 80mph.
That is really good if average speed of the entire trip was 80. If you averaged 55, it "could" have given you 35 for the same trip, considering there is typically a 28% hit of fuel consumption for going 80 vs 55. Then again there are variables such as drag coefficient, gear ratio, etc.. Hmm interesting.

I usually drive 72 on long trips and never speed in Louisiana as the roads are bad and the Smokies worse! I really baby my Cyclone vert as there's really nothing to prove...a great priced convertible that runs well and gets decent MPG.:clap2: But let me also say that my last 2013 GT got great MPG...about 22 always.:cheers:

I'll be doing the same. I wanted a nice looking car with reliability and would be fun to cruise in. I used to go crazy with my GT's of the past. Still much better than driving the Corolla even if at the same speed haha.

61mpg is too much.

my v6 gets like 18/29. I can probably get that to 19/29 but you know.... I like to accelerate.

I have not cleared the trip 2 setting since new and my lifetime average mpg just shy of 6000 miles is 24.9. I DD the car and that average even has a day running a 1/2 mile airstrip event. When driving between 55-70 mph I have had averages above 30. Once I run 72 they fall to 29-29.5 and anything around 75-80 stay in the 27-28 range. It is a 6MT 3.31 Premium GT with 18" wheels.

When I was younger I modded out my GTs also, but now I'm very happy to have a "no hassle" convertible to cruise around in. This new IRS on the S550s is terrific on the verts...I mean terrific!!! And these verts are SOLID...or at least mine is...not a rattle to be found anywhere! Maybe I'm just lucky?

haha 61 is for my Corolla, not my Mustang :)

My goal is 35, and based off the EPA ratings, shouldn't be an issue, as doubling the city rating is usually hypermiling potential.

I get 14 mpg all day long and I'm happy. :clap2:
Haha I don't blame you! If I had a bad ass GT, I'd prob get the same mileage. Those cars just beg to be driven hard, and it's a blast doing so in the process. I think I intentionally got the v6 to restrict my urges to go fast and have that thing most of us have, "upgraditis".

Does the Mustang display real-time MPG, or just average/interval historical?
Only if you put it on the "last 30 minutes" display. Then you can see in 6-minute increments, best you can do. It doesn't have an "instant mpg" feature where it flashes to 99 mpg when you let off on the gas.

So far I have averaged 15.7 mpg. Just bought it on Monday and has approximately 350 miles on it total.

I was hoping it had the instant mpg but I'll just use a Bluetooth obd2 and the android torque app.
