Ordered my 17 GT350 yesterday (so the patient waiting begins). I'm planning to use this as a year round daily driver in central Indiana. I've been driving RWD (lately an 11 GT Coyote & manual & two bags of water softener salt in the trunk) many years. So please don't suggest beater, not interested in parking this car for weeks/months. When weather is too bad to travel at all, I'll just stay home. I'm planning to keep a summer wheel+tire set (stock GT350) and a winter set (both wheels and tires). Ford Performance recommended Blizzak LM-32 255/40 (front) and 275/40 (rear). Searching myself, seems like a good winter tire (a bit clunky looking, but it's a winter tire). I'm having challenge finding 2nd set of wheels though. Concerned about fitment to narrower winter tires and over the brakes and the changed bolts (is it pattern or just size 14m?). I'd probably would be happy with same as stock wheels (can't find those either), but rear seems a bit wide for the narrower Blizzak tire. Should I consider going a bit narrower and taller (maybe 10x20)? Anyone have good experience / options for a 'winter set' of wheels & tires? Sorry, lots of questions, just looking for advice.

I'm curious about this. I have a truck but it costs me a 1000+ a year to insure

As far as the tires I can say good things. I have the LM-32s on my GT and they were good. The only rear wheel drive snow experience I have was 2 seasons of a 97 Blazer and I had zero issues in the Mustang. No weight in the back either. Just threw it and snow mode and plowed.

We didn't get much snow though so we will see once we get an actual winter. As far as the rims I just bought a cheap set from Discount Tire with the tires as a package. Not sure if they would have your size though being a GT350. Good luck!

I'm running 19 x 8.5 MMD Axim wheels with my Blizzak winter tires. There are a few threads on this already.

Here's one:

Thanks Hack, I did read that thread. I'm struggling with the wheel options. Reasonably satisfied with the tire recommendation from Ford Performance, but I'll need some wheels to hang them on. Unless there are some wheel-less tire options, that would be awesome. :) Of course, I don't have the car yet, so kind of speculative.

Welcome to the fold! I'm in Brownsburg. Did you order from an Indiana dealer?

You might think about removing the front splitter for the winter when the snow reaches more than an inch or two. (Or you could swing by my house and use your new GT350 to plow my driveway! :p )

^This, I drove my M3 and M4 in the last couple of winters and traction with good snow tires was never an issue. Clearance could've been, but I got lucky and never got stuck.

I came really close though a couple of times. Last year, I went through about 8 inches of unplowed snow and my splitter was acting like a snowplow kicking up snow over and on the windshield. Just have to be smart and keep your momentum up whenever you can.

Yep, ordered through my local, small home town Ford dealer (somewhat north & west of your location). Just ordered Friday 7/1, so no confirmation or actual paperwork yet. My winter road time will be mostly confined to I74 (after plows, not before!). Good call on the splitter, I may consider that as part of the seasonal wheel swap 'procedure'. :)

i am running Pirelli's (Sottozeros...285 fr, 295 rear - overall diameter is pretty close to stock Michelin SUpersports). Using MMD FS01 as extra set of wheels. i drove mine over winter but not in sloppy stuff...have 8k miles in 6 months - sweet DD!
