I dont understand some of these numbers.

The full front xpel ultimate, just parts alone, costs $1400 or so (bumper, hood, quarter panels, mirrors).

I think some of you are thinking all clear bra brands are the same or your installer is doing it for free?

You can go to xpel.com and choose gt350 as your car and see how much it costs for each. The price there is parts alone excluding tax and shipping.

On that note, I see that there are different prices for with and without stripes. What exactly does that mean? The xpel doesnt cover the stripe? So its cut in shape of the body except the stripe? I hope thats not the case because I want to protect my stripe as well:)
There are 3 different ways you can install Xpel Ultimate on our GT350s:

1. Use GT350 full front w/out stripe "kit"
- This kit comes pre-cut to cover the full hood, front bumper, front fenders, and Mirrors for ~$1400
2. Use GT350 full front w/stripe "kit"
- This kit comes pre-cut to cover the full hood (except where the stripe is applied*), front bumper (except where the stripe is applied*), front fenders, and Mirrors for ~$1450 *the stripe is NOT covered
3. Request a "custom" install
- Only a few higher end shops will do this. This install requires the installer to cut sheets of Xpel Ultimate and install them to fit perfectly with no pre-made templates. This install usually comes out cleaner since all edges are guaranteed to get rolled and tucked around all the body panels, and will not show any ppf edges. To cover the full hood, front bumper, front fenders, and Mirrors should run you about ~$1900

I hope this helps.

Thanks, why would anyone want to not cover the stripe? Isn't it better to cover it?

Also, if I spend $1400 and the pre-cut xpel wraps dont cover all my panels, I am getting my money back! That's not my fault!:)

That's also why god invented AMEX:)

Because the stripe is vinyl it would make a noticeable gradient between the stripe and paint. But IMO its not noticeable and is worth it to protect the stripes. Thats why I went with the custom install. :D

Yeah and cutting the film to match the stripe edges creates lines as well. Thats why I chose full 1 piece hood with stripe over top.

lol awesome, you went from knowing zero about PPFs a few days ago to knowing everything.

Suntek and xpel material costs are very similar, the biggest cost is the labor. What xpel charges for their precut kits at retail and what installers pay are two very different things, especially if they have their own machine and simply load the template and it gets cut to size right there in the shop

I paid $1200 for suntek (also self healing like xpel, but higher clarity and less orange peel looking). This was for the template based front bumper, full hood, partial fenders, head lights, and door jabs from one of the best installers in the bay area. If you want a full custom install (ie not precut, but fully wrap the edges) then basically double that price. For the full car wrapped you are looking at 5-6k depending on how much disassembly there is.

Considering full wrap as well...do I understand correctly that this will require an investment of 5k every 5 years?

I'm not saying XPEL is not a great product but I would advise anyone going to go with a PPF read the reviews on multiple sites before making your decision. XPEL does a lot of advertising so that is the most famous brand out there. That does not mean there are not other great options.
