Hey guys,

All of these packages that I want are adding up, but it seems like I only want one or two things in each of them. The biggest issue i'm having with custom ordering this is the Premium AM/FM Radio in the 400 package, and the "HD" AM/FM Radio in the 401a.

Can I not subscribe to XM radio if I only have the 400a package???

Thats BS.

XM/Sirius and HD Radio are 2 totally different things. XM/Sirius is included on 400a, as well as 401a. HD Radio is only available on 401a.

Well enlighten me then. What is "HD" radio consist of then? More speakers/subs?
I don't want a big sub eating my trunk space.

The 410a does come with the 12-speaker Shaker stereo, which has the sub in the trunk. As far as HD Radio, it is AM/FM radio that run on a much cleaner signal, not every radio station in the country participates. Butmuch like HD tv, the programming is otherwise the same as the non HD station.

Funny, Ford limits Sirius/XM Radio to limited Package upgrades while Hyundai & Kia have Sirius/ XM Radio as "Standard Equipment" even in their stripped down entry level Accent & Rio Vehicle`s, that I might add have a MSRP of 13K! Guess the profits margins are too small on the Mustang to do the same?

I find HD radio to be incredible annoying when I've had it. Maybe it's better now. for me It seemed like there was a small buffer created with HD, which makes sense for the digital signal. But when the signal is lost it bounces between HD and regular FM, causing the radio station to sound like it's skipping. I didn't see anything on the display indicating that's what was happening, but I can't think of any other reason FM radio would "skip". I'm happy to live without HD radio, since I just listen to pandora or slacker through my truck's bluetooth anyway. better music, absolutely no commercials and no idiot rock jocks.

Did I read correctly that the Sirius/XM radio will come with a pre-paid 5 year subscription?

I'm eager to try the HD radio as well, it's one of the reasons I went 401A. I hate static. If it happens to not work well, I enjoy Sirius just fine.

I agree. At this point in time Sirius/XM should be included in all trim levels.

Ford includes Sirius/XM Radio in many Base Trim Vehicles in Canada, unlike the United States. But (we) are exceptional?

No, you only get the first 6 months free, then you will have to pay a subscription fee to continue using it.

I believe the 5 years youre talking about is the navigation update subscription that comes with the navigation package.

Ah, that makes more sense. I thought that was a bit too much.

Sirius/XM is only a 5 or 6 month complimentary subscription then you have to pay for it afterwards

HD radio is only as good as your local broadcast station just with a higher fidelity.... Personally never used it.. Tired of commercials on the radio and same song played over and over after 20 or thirty minutes... Nope, cell phone has my music and probably a higher quality to boot!
