My lethal x-pipe arrived yesterday and I want to install it after work today. Has anyone installed them by just driving the rear of the car onto race ramps?

I don't think it should be too bad and really don't wanna take it to a shop to pay them to put it on. I had no issues installing the roush axle back on ramps, I just hope the ramps will get it high enough to be able to do the job.

I installed mine on jack stands. It sas only slightly terrifying. Ramps are definitely safer and you should be fine.

Yea I had a jack stand fail on me when I was doing a turbo swap on my ST. Luckily I was able to get my head out of the way in time lol. I have some heavy duty ones now but I now have a phobia of jack stands lol

I imagine as long as I have enough room with the ramps to be able to get the sawzall in I should be alright. Then just reaching up front to get to the front clamps shouldn't be too hard

It was easiest for me to take the entire assembly out from the resonator back. Then I could measure and cut without having to be under the car. I was using one of the chain pipe cutters though, so cutting was a pain.

Good point, maybe taking the whole assembly out would be easier than cutting up under the car. I'm sure I will probably have to make some adjustments to the Roush mufflers at the end anyways

I used ramps to swap out the stock with an MBRP street. Super easy no issues with height

Well I got it swapped out. Ended up pulling the whole catback and reinstalling it in pieces, didn't have enough room to use the sawzall with it on the car.

I love it/hate it so far though haha. The car sounds absolutely vicious at idle/cruising/mild acceleration. At WOT it is very tinny sounding up top. Maybe I'll warm up to it though. May end up swapping mufflers but we'll see lol

Whenever I'm forced to work under a car that's on jack stands (or just a hydraulic jack), I ALWAYS put a cinder block or some other barrier (I've used an oak log before) under a structural part of the frame near where I'm working. Life's short enough without taking unnecessary risks. :)

I had the chain fail on a 4 poster lift and a Ford F-250 came crashing down where I was standing about 20 seconds prior. That made me extremely anal about making sure the safeties were engaged after that.

Best,

So I have the roush axle backs and a lethal h pipe I'm about to install. Which order should I go in for the installation? Any tricks to make it easier? Thanks

I pulled the entire exhaust out on ramps. Should be even easier if you have axle backs installed already because you can remove those separately. Then unbolt the resonator and yank the rest of it out.

Measure and cut outside the car, it's a lot easier than trying to make a good cut from underneath.

Same here, took entire cat back out for x-pipe install. Measure and cut with everything out of the car. X-pipe back in first, then rest of the cat back one side at a time (which is now easier since separate pieces).

I did the Corsa sport cat back with the rear on ramps, front tires chalked, emergency brake set, etc. Little tight but it worked out in the end. Probably easier of the car is raised on all fours if possible.

I had trouble removing the factory exhaust post bracket. I slide it back has far as the rear exhaust hanger would allow but still couldn't get the driver side (non flex) to clear. I ended up also removing the hanger under the rear bumper. Dropped and was able to slide out. Replace, and continue on with Corsa install.
