X pipe fall off while driving?

Got my frpp X pipe installed yesterday. Guy tries to tell me to weld it on or it'll fall off but I figured how many people on this forum used the clamps with no issues. Driving today and one of the clamps comes loose and my exhaust is dragging. Anyone have this problem?

Wow, sounds like they purposely set it up to fail. Probably left it loose so you go back to get it welded and make money off of you twice.

Partly why I got rid of mine. Didn't particularly care for the fit & finish.

Exactly what I was thinking. The guy was mad I said I didn't want it welded and to use the clamps. He insisted it would come off. I said there's thousands of guys who have no problems with them. If I did get it welded I wouldn't go back there anyway lol. I wanted to use the clamps only so I have the option to change things if I want to.

mine is clamped with no issues....in fact I added an outlaw axle back so that was more cutting and clamping.....4 clamps and no issues.

I haven't gotten an xpipe as of yet but have watched the install on utube a few times. I'd say the guy definitely cut in the wrong place and/or installed it incorrectly

I had that happen with my axleback. I took my car a road trip and I guess the vibration caused it to come loose a few days later. I got it fixed and got it spot welded so even if it came loose again it wouldn't come off. It's more of a precaution.

I had a clamp come loose on me. Just make sure your torquing it down enough. I think it was around 60 ft lbs

No no no, the mechanic had it right. The mufflers hang off the side of the X-pipe and torque that clamp pretty hard. You really need a weld and the clamps just won't cut it. Been there, done that.
