OP has already indicated that the cost to sell & rebuy would be to high. Also if he were to follow your recommendation he wouldn’t have a 50th Anniversary car which is what this thread is all about. Think about this way, you found a house you absolutely loved and the cost and location were perfect. Would you pass on it just because you didn’t like the color of the siding?
All valid points.

I flew to Montana Bozeman and drove it to Ohio for grabber blue, ifbyou want a color, get it
In late Oct. 2017, I found my '16 GT in Detroit. I bought a one-way ticket, did the deal and drove my car 11 hours home. And I enjoyed ever second of that drive.

Mine was very dangerous, it was dry all month, and the day came to when I flew in, like feet of snow. I drove from Bozeman Montana to Dayton Ohio in full blown blizzard, whiteouts, snowdrifts, the dealership asked me if I used water softener in my house, I said no, then he said how about your grandma or someone? I called asked, she said yes.

he had his man go to Sams club, and purchased like 200lbs of water softener, they sealed them in bags and put them in my trunk. I made it all way home, albeit, very cautious, I drove it on 87 gas, with snow mode on purpose so it would be limp as possible. I lost control at 60mph on a black ice highway (a mile later) there was like 20 accents, I fish tailed everywhere, and regained control.

got lucky, was scary, but fun.

I stopped in the area where Mount Rushmore was, I parked infront of hotel door to get a room to sleep, he was like DUDE THAT MUSTANG IS AWESOME, and the credit card machine was down, said "the rooms on us" gave me a free room.

Mustang has been liked by most the people since.

OK, so a little background 1st;
I've wanted a 50th anniversary Mustang ever since I bought my 2009 V6 coup brand new, before having any idea what the car would look like. When the LE's were revealed for the 2015 MY I was drooling with anticipation, but the price of admittance was too high for my finances at the time, and honestly owning a limited production, high priced model was simply too impractical for my personal circumstances. For me, back in 2015 a V6 was the sensible, practical choice, and after seeing the ruby red color in person I knew that was the color my Mustang had to be so I found a new Ruby Red 051a V6, which gave me over 3 1/2 years of fun, thoroughly enjoyable driving pleasure when I decided it was time that my itch for a V8 had to be scratched. The LE's were still a bit out of my price range, but after a few months of searching and waiting, I came upon a low mileage, 50 years appearance package GT that had nearly everything I was looking for except it was magnetic metallic instead of ruby, but the price was right so I jumped on it happy to finally have my 50 Years car. I enjoy driving the car, but almost right away I missed the ruby color, and with 6 months past I know it's not just buyers remorse, so I'm seriously considering a color change.

I could start my search all over, and wait until a ruby red 50 years GT comes up for sale within a reasonable distance to my home, but who knows how long that would take, plus the hit I'd take financially by trading my car in after such a short time would probably be too much for me to consider.

I'd love to just drop the car off at a reputable paint shop and have the color changed, but I'm not willing to drop $10k to have it done, and I'm concerned that something less expensive just won't have the same shine and quality as the factory paint. However, if I do go the painting route, I'm not limited to just ruby. Before I was introduced to ruby red, I really liked the lava red from the 2012 Mustangs, so dark it looked black most of the time, but when the light hit it the reflection glowed a brilliant metallic red, not at all muddy like many dark red/burgundy colored paints can be. So, if a paint shop could properly duplicate that color, I thought that would be a truly stunning and unique car, a 1 of a kind, lava red 50 years GT! The only question is could it be done for a reasonable price and still look good?

Lastly, I've read about vinyl wraps for cars, and it seems like an affordable option, but I doubt I can get a good match for either ruby red or lave red. Plus, I haven't seen a wrapped car in person, so I don't know if the finished product looks as good as factory paint. Does it have the same shine? Do the metallic colors glow in the light like the factory metallic paints? Or do you look at it for 5 seconds and just know it's vinyl?

Opinions? What would you do?
Personally man I'd trade the car for exactly what you want... Your gonna put 3-6k in it to paint/wrap it and in 3 years when you want to sell it people and dealers will use the wrap as an excuse to lowball you into a lower price...

To do a paint job right, you got to gut the interior, pull the engine, then put it all back and hope you didnt mess up something... You're talking serious money... Serious downtime, plus all new placards...

When people run the vin it Will come up as a different color they'll think the car had a wreck you didnt report and use it to lowball you..

These cars are so plentiful you can probably trade out of it and not pay anything more.

Or sell it put some cash on top and get one that's supercharged... Or lower mileage.

Thats what I'd do man. Another option is bring it to a dealer next month trade it for a nice brand new 2019 or 2020, or if youre lucky an untitled 2018... Get all those dealer rebates, a great price for the trade in, plus the low interest rate and reset warranty!
