6MT all the way. It’s the whole reason why I bought a Mach1. It’s a GT350 with a 5.0 and factory warranty still available.
So not quite as good, but close. 😁

I'm ready to get pooped on for this response, but if you even have to think about it or ask this question then the answer is auto.

You know if you want manual. If this is your only car, and you get auto when you wanted manual, you will regret it. You will attempt to rationalize it and keep the car for years when it was a mistake from day 1.

...not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.
He said his WIFE wants the stick. I don't want to get too political but i think i know who they vote for. 🤣

I’ve owned a 350 & 350R, the Mach 1 is equally as good. 😎
That's what Mach1 guys like to tell themselves. Just be sure to wear white socks and sandals when you're driving it. It's the corvette of Mustangs.

Don’t hate because the Shelby GT350 was axed. The Mach1 is a parts bin car and far from a corvette. You’re just mad because ford was able to slap their best parts together and make a car on equal footing of the overhyped 350 with little effort and lower cost.

I’m surprised by the amount of people saying manual if you will be on the track and auto for daily. My thought process is different. The 10speed is proven to be faster. I don’t care about being a little slower in my daily, I enjoy rowing gears in my daily commute
meh, if you’re slower than add a blower…

yes it rhymes 😬

Have a 6 speed that is mostly a track car now.

Have a auto convertible that is mostly a show car/weekend wife's car.

Both do well for what we are using them for.

GT, get an Auto, Dark Horse and under 40, Manual, over 40, toss up.
Drove a DH HP with the auto over the weekend. Really good car, the A10 was super smooth in that car, no jerky shifts or anything. Crispier shifts in Sport and Track mode, which was expected, but it wasn’t harsh. Didn’t feel all that different from my 2022 GT (the transmission, the car itself is totally different). I’m mid-40’s and not even really much of a toss up for me anymore. The autos and the DCT’s out there now are really good. Manuals are still a lot of fun, but I’m getting lazy in my old age LOL

I flew from Oregon to Missouri to get my RC manual with ceramic interior. I recently got close to 44 miles per gallon through country roads over mountains. When I play I can get as low as 18. But I would never buy a Mustang with out a manual, so that means I will never buy a new Mustang again only used.

I have a 10r80 in my 18Gt and an mt82 in the 13 Gt. 18 makes 900whp and the 13 makes 620whp.
The 13 is way more fun to drive. I am not really all that impressed with the 10r80.

However, If I had the ecoboost, Id get the 10speed. I have driven both and the 10speed for the turbo 4cyl is way better.

Depends on the year. >2018 6spds with base gearing are absolute dogs. The 10spd feels much quicker due to gearing. If going manual it's an absolute must to either be <2018 or at a minimum the performance package due to the better rear gearing.
This is a main reason I went with the auto on my '19 GT. If I ever get a Mach 1 or Dark Horse, though, I'll go with the manual.

The 10r80 is definitely an acquired taste. I prefer it for my Atlanta living. I've had mine rebuilt with Suncoast Stage 2 upgrade as well as 3600 CircleD converter. That combined with the Wengerd Tune makes it an entirely different animal. I had to do it for all the Scats, Cats, SS, Hawks, and other disrespectful HP in my area. Everyone thinks a roll race defines the power. I leave them dumbfounded with perfect acceleration from a standstill and I'm out of it by the time I hit the speed limit. You have to respect the acceleration of the 10r80 from a standstill. Well they dont have to respect it but they have to live with it when I leave them at the light.

Roll races are a great proxy for a dyno, and they're fun, but they don't demand much in terms of driving talent. I guess that's not their purpose, though.

The stick shift is the answer my friend. At the end of the day yes the auto is faster, but that 10 speed "hunts" for gears and is at times just goofy. The feeling of rowing your own gears literally never gets old. I could just be going to pick up milk at the grocery store a mile down the road and the car is fun to drive. Control over the revs, control over the poweband, a better sounding exhaust. A lot of folks don't think about that, with the auto you can't get to the high rpm range like you can the manual so the exhaust won't sound as good.
I've never really understood the traffic issue. I mean, you're probably in traffic 9-10% of your total driving time, so why would you sacrifice the joy of the manual???

Trust me, get the stick.
