A bunch of 6G members have been posting about available cars with lower and lower ADM's. Heck just the other day a magnetic track pack was scooped up at MSRP.
Pass on it, get a refundable 2017 allocation and in the meantime keep checking 6G for members posting leads on cars.

Uh, just because they do PDR, does that mean you have to accept the car? It's not like you signed an agreement saying you're on the hook to purchase the car once PDR is done. Have them do the repairs, check it out at the dealership as planned, and if you don't like what you see, then refuse the vehicle at that point. Not sure what the complication is or why you'd waste your time and money going out to a rail yard.

They will do PDR on the car irrespective -- it's the cost of doing business, and Ford will likely reimburse the dealership in some way for the repairs. I also doubt that anyone would be able to tell anything happened, and it won't be on the carfax. Shopping around, you may be looking at cars that have had PDR done, and never suspect it. If you don't like the car for any reason, you don't need to take delivery of it. It's a head game now that it's known that the car has been hit by hail though. I don't think I would want to see pictures of the damage. I've been to a local PDR guy a couple of times for mine -- he does AMAZING work -- you just can't tell where he's done the work at all -- totally invisible -- no trace of damage.

I'm in the business, if it's small stuff, a good PDR tech can make it look brand new. Just need to make sure the guy knows what he is doing. If it were mine, I'd have my PDR guy look it over and try to get them to discount it as they would have to pay for the repairs anyway and have the tech I trusted do the work. PDR, when done properly is much better than paint rework.
But, then again, it really depends on what you want. If you take it, will you always be looking for that missed dent, will you worry about the underside of the metal, will you always second guess yourself? If so, take a 17, if not, enjoy your 16
Since i found out about PDR I have used it ever since on all my cars. In fact My car was dented while unloading from the trailer during delivery, had my PDR shop fix it good as new!!!!!

PDR is awesome!!!!

Shitaki happens! I was rear-ended two days ago at a red light. Hadn't had the car out in 2 weeks lol. NO worries though as it was all superficial damage, still almost 5k repair bill. Lower valance is almost 3k!!!!!

Negotiate a really good discount that they can get back out of their own insurance or transport company or ford, etc, and take the car AS-IS. If the deal is good enough you can get your own PDR work by the best in the business of your choosing (another PDR already said it'll look brand new, right?) for a fraction of what you saved by buying it with the damage still there.

If you decide to go this route, make sure to take into account and mention the interior panel removal (if any) and possible rattles in the near future, and damage to the interior from the work and whatnot, and let it be a negotiating point for the discount.

If you want it now, I would tell them to fix it without the implication that you will buy. I am sure they are going to fix it regardless. After repairs take a very detailed look at the car and decide if you are happy with the repairs. If not, order a 17!

my only issue is they said they cant get you pictures of the damage before you pick it up. That is crazy and makes no sense, someone is going to have to photograph the damage for documentation if a claim is going to be filed. in todays tech world with camera phones he cant get you pictures? sounds fishy, maybe its an occupational hazard. with him mentioning other cars are going for 10k over seems like he wants to sell it to someone else for the extra

Yeah something does seem fishy that they can't supply photos of the damage in this era of smartphones.

I would continue to hassle them for it to help you make the decision if you really REALLY want to stay with a tech 2016, and like others suggested, take that $1000 quote off the sale price, see if you can get anything else off for the time and hassle this has caused and then search out your own PDR guy to do it post-sale who I guarantee will probably be better than "their" guy.

That said my vote would be for getting a 2017 GT350 at MSRP through them and get all the choices the new MY comes with.

Good luck!

When things get complicated and it's not life threatening...let it go.
Get a 17 model that comes standard with coolers and a spoiler. No second guessing on the effected value of the hail damage...AND you bought yourself another car while you're waiting for this one.
Just My Opinion
