Being that a large part of the country has already seen snowfall, I figure this is a good time to ask this. Do you guys trust any particular brush/scraper for snow and ice that won't scratch your clear coat? I am afraid to use the one I've been using forever on my previous car and a new one I was gifted last year but haven't used yet makes me really nervous. We had our first snowfall of the northeast (or at least my part of CT) last week and I just used my hand for the snow. I had no ice fortunately.

Swirls are the enemy.

I use a gloved-hand to remove snow from the paint. I use whatever scraper is available/on sale for the glass.

Swirls are terrible indeed, but I accept the fact that they will come and I just do a solid buff twice a year. This allows me to run the car through an autowash that has undercarriage jets.

Which winter tires do you run?

I attempted to remove my factory/dealership swirls a few weeks ago but just ran out of time by the time my car was out of direct sunlight. I didn't use enough product and couldn't spend enough time on each section. I will re-attempt in the spring. I do need to think about undercarriage washes. I may jack the car up and use my garden hose foam cannon every so often.

None yet but I just purchased a set of Michelin X-Ice Xi3's in 245/45R19. I didn't drive in the middle of the snow storm last week. The car was fine in parking lots afterwards though with TC enabled on the stock Pzeros. With it off I was getting absolutely no where, as expected.

That's two with snow brooms so far, which is where I was leaning - away from bristled brushes. Thank you.

The key is to use a clean brush - as far as clear coat swirls go, you're likely to get them anyway. Let's be honest - if you've made the decision to drive in the winter, then you're already losing the battle of paint damage.

I also use one of the foam snow pushers. less abrasive than the nylon bushes on the typical ones, just like the nylon brushes we avoid in automatic car washes, I wouldn't use that on my car. Lol
