Any concern over electronics under the dash? A friend of mine did his durango SUV and shorted out some crap...never really recovered, even after the dealer "fixed" it.

Not entirely sure what you mean but I've had my windshield tint for 3+ years with zero issues.Any concern over electronics under the dash? A friend of mine did his durango SUV and shorted out some crap...never really recovered, even after the dealer "fixed" it.
I guess the application of the tint had excess water and that got into the dash...he said he had to air it out because it wouldn't start when he picked up the truck. I was just wondering if that is something to be concerned about with the mustang. Not entirely sure what you mean but I've had my windshield tint for 3+ years with zero issues.
Got it. That could be a concern with any car. It's all on the installer. I did my due diligence and found the best in my area (regardless of price). Checked out their shop and their work before I gave them my car. Never a 100% guarantee but it worked for me.I guess the application of the tint had excess water and that got into the dash...he said he had to air it out because it wouldn't start when he picked up the truck. There are some tints with metallic properties, "metallized" due to metal dust/components in them. I don't think many use this type any more.Any concern over electronics under the dash? Keep in mind that factory glass is already tinted to a 70%.I have the “percentages “ wrong. It would be a 70% on the front windshield. Which blocks 30% of the light. The back window and sides are 20% and the doors are 35%.
Well, here in Texas, you cannot have any tint on the front windshield, except above the ASI line.I'm considering getting my windshield tinted and I'd appreciate comments for and against. I will comply with state tint limits. Thanks in advance.
Not exactly true. You can have your front windshield tinted as long as it it is clear. If you go darker you must have a “medical exemption “ for anything darker. We have a medical tint exemption, that is why we are able to have darker tint. I also live in Texas. My wife has been pulled over for having a front windshield tinted but has shown her medical exemption.Well, here in Texas, you cannot have any tint on the front windshield, except above the ASI line.
Ira, This is new to me. I interpreted the OP as asking if he should tint his windshield like we often do the side and rears...darker. Is yours pretty much clear but offers heat and UV protection?Absolutely 100%. Most of the heat comes in from the windshield. Get a high quality ceramic tint. I have Autobahn Air Ceramic 80. I'm sure there are newer, better ones.

Yes. 80% is virtually clear. It's the ceramic that does the job. Massive reduction in heat with UV protection as well.Ira, This is new to me.
