Never seen that before. I'd get it replaced.

Yea....that's not good. Almost a safety issue. I'd be heading over to the dealership about right now.

Thanks for all of the replies. I've been waiting for first service to show the dealer, but maybe sooner than later. I really hate to have windshield replaced, what a PITA.

I read somewhere that there is something that can cause that on some windshields and the dealer should have the stuff to remove. Can't remember where but take it in. If they can't fix it they will replace. Had mine replaced (different issue) and have had zero issues. Actually road noise has improved since the new windshield.

I actually noticed a small spot on my windshield recently on the passenger side that is similar. It is a small like 1 inch spot that is completely fogged like that. I got my car a few months ago, do you think it would be to late to have ford fix it?

I wonder if it's not something from the factory.

Mine had a series of small spots in the driver's field of view when I got it, ranging in size from a pin head to a pencil eraser. I soaked them with Windex from both sides and scrubbed, with no luck. Tried scraping at them with a fingernail with no effect also, and was convinced that it was in the laminate (sure looked like it) and was ready to take it back to the dealer.

But then I took a new razor blade and tried to scrape them away, which worked with some effort (mine were on the inside). Whatever it was was extremely thin and was tough to catch, even with the blade edge. It worked though, and no more spots for me.

I am also thinking about taking a razor to it, but I am afraid it would make it worse.

Um, you guys know that you can routinely remove stickers and such from car windows with a razor blade with no issue, right?

The thing I would be worried about is it being something wrong with the laminate they put on the windshield, and using the razor would just start a chain reaction of the rest pealing over time.

Same Here.

Yea I have the same issue. One small spot the size of a dime on my drivers side. I can't get rid of it.

I have little scratch marks... " " ... that look like quotation marks. The only way I can think of them getting there is when I put up/take down my sunshade. It is really annoying and I can't understand why this would happen.

Dang that sucks! These car wind shields have what Ford calls "Sound Screen"

SoundScreen acoustic windshields are made of a layer of sound-absorbent vinyl sandwiched between two sheets of glass. It reduces noise levels by as much as 6dB between 1500Hz and 5000Hz, and 2 to 3dB overall, which allows conversation and audio to be heard more clearly.

Sounds to me like a warranty claim. Something is in the sandwich that shouldn't be there. I don't think it's an apparition either.
