Could sure use more thjan one Convertible' Tint Pics )

Got Llumar ATX 15% all around but only to brow on windshield. Didn't upgrade to CTX since I have a convertible so signal issues and heat retention aren't a big deal for me :-) I usually like to do 20% on my cars but they only had 15% or next up was 30%. Personally I think 30 is a waste...had it dealer installed on my wife's old car. Doesn't block enough sunlight, only gives a minor appearance improvement...just my opinion! Maybe some of the ceramics out nowadays do better.

Sadly, I see too few member's convertible pics. Obviuosly, I am biased. ;)

Just curious of the laws on tint in Wash. I know we all push the tint laws, but Holy Cow, the FRONT windshield TOO and 35%! ?

Washington State: The maximum level of sunscreening material to be applied to any window, except the windshield, shall have a total reflectance of 35% or less, and a light transmittance of 24% or more. RCW 46.37.430

I guess the sun's brighter in Washington than MN, those two days a year when the sun comes out in Seattle. Here in MN, NO tinting of any kind on any part of the windshield and total tinting cannot exceed 50% on other windows! You can tint darker if you have a optometrist exemption (cab) card. MN Highway Patrol love to add on those little extra infractions...they all carry little 'tint cards' to check on tint level.

In Calif I believe the law is no tint (other than OEM) on windshied nor driver and passenger doors. MOst people who tint do do the drvr & passenger doors, but less than the rest. On my wife's Prius we did 50% drvr/ pass, then 35% rear doors and 5% limo tint on the hatch. Our tint guy said a lot of people push it with 35% on drvr /pass, but said you are asking to be stopped. He recommended even with our 50%, if we see a cop 'first' ROLL YOUR FRONT WINDOWS DOWN. I try to remember to do that to at least postpone a ticket! ;)

I plan to try not attaching the front plate, so I will likely forgo tint on my convertible to avoid giving an officer two reason to stop me. Maybe later I might decide to leave the Sto-n-SHo on full time and add tint.

That looks like superior tinting? If it is I have gone there everytime I needed tint or audio work. I am taking delivery of my 15 in a few days and will be going there for tint. They started hosting car meets now too.
