Mine was $425 (correction from one of my earlier posts that said $400, I found the receipt). Side windows and rear, Xpel XR Prime Plus. The front windshield would’ve added another $300 (again, correction from my previous post, quoted XR Prime price. Sorry I’m under the weather and brain isn’t functioning 100%). Subtract $100 for each for XR Prime, so $325 sides & rear and $200 front windshield.
I appreciate the info. Thank you.

It depends, if you’re parking your car in a parking lot with no shade at work on a 110 degree day, you’re kind of delaying the inevitable. For smaller durations , trips etc and less extreme weather it makes a big difference.

Personally I did it to help prevent UV damage to the interior. Use a well fitting sunshade as well.
Absolutely a good sunshade is a must. The best I've found is the Intro-tech brand (which also has a lifetiime warranty and I've had at least 2 sunshades replaced under warranty). They're custom made for any vehicle and I like the roll-up version with a velcro band to store it as it's stiff enough that it won't crumple and fall off the sun visors holding it to the windshield. You might find it on Amazon where I got most of them or on their website.

I agree, I have a covercraft that's custom made and it helped a ton..In fact when I take it down it's almost too hot to touch on the front side.

What kind of cost has it been to have the side and back window tinted in recent times. It has been over 15 years or more since I have had any windows tinted.

How much is a ceramic tint job going for now?
Area makes a huge difference. I paid $425 to have the factory over the top race stripes taken off, crappy dealership tint taken off and retinted with XR ceramic in 20% on everything except the windshield. The windshield was another $225 which I did not do.

I just had mine done here in Central Texas. I wanted to keep "legal" so I did 20% back and side, then 30% on front doors; no tint on windshield but I use a sunshade on the windshield. Paid $350 for ceramic. I normally tint my vehicles the first week or two I get them, but this one I've had since last fall because it's not a daily driver and didn't think I needed it (with top down why tint?) Boy I was wrong, tint made a tremendous difference. Make sure you get ceramic for the heat rejection, and I guarantee you won't regret it.

When are you going to get started on the audio system :)

I just picked up my new to me 2017 Vert and had the windows tinted the next day. 20 on sides and back and 50 on entire windshield with a XPel Prime XR Plus. It makes a significant difference in radiant heat. When the car is parked it will still get hot inside due to thermal conduction however, the blistering effect is lowered. I noticed my dash felt much cooler when under direct sunlight after tinting. It’s not “cool” but defiantly not scalding hot anymore.

I also use a covercraft windscreen when parked to aid in reducing conduction through the windshield.

lol hopefully before fall. I’m currently installing a catback and some lighting upgrades. I ordered some door panels from a premium coupe cause the vert has the hard plastic panels on the top and they are faded from sitting in the sun with no tint on the windows. I will order some sound treatment and line the new panels as well as the doors once I have speakers to drop in.

I need to read up on 9-speaker system upgrades so I can formulate a plan.

sorry, I don't really have any good pics since getting the tint done. Here are a couple from the garage this morning - but not sure it really shows the tint all that well.

Looks good! Looks OE. I could go for that.

I'm really happy with it; gives me heat rejection and a slightly darker look without being blacked out. Also, when the top is down and windows up (highway), it doesn't look "too dark" / strange. Plus, I know it's legal so I don't worry about the random "extra" scrutiny should I get pulled over for "using" my GT....

I didn't want ANY tint from a bad experience with 5% tint on a previous car but its TOO hot and sunny where I live so I "needed" to tint this car. It looks too dark from outside the vehicle for my liking but sitting inside looking out is perfect day or night you can barely notice its even there till you lower the window or step out and the sun/heat hits you full force.

Llumar IRX all around.
50% windshield.
The rest are 30%.
Use a sunshade when parked.
1/4 inch crack front windows when parked outside for more than 2 hours.

Interesting comment on the difference with vert. I've been thinking about a tint but whenever I'm driving the sun is not very hot when low or too high for tint to make a difference. When will it help me, besides looks.

Georgia's legal requirements for car window tint:

Tint darkness for sedans:
  • Windshield: Non-reflective tint is allowed on the top 6 inches of the windshield.
  • Front Side windows: Must allow more than 32% of light in.
  • Back Side windows: Must allow more than 32% of light in.
  • Rear Window: Must allow more than 32% of light in
So depending on where your windshield parking sticker has to go, you may be OK.

ir wont' help you under those conditions. You probably shouldn't get tint unless it is for looks. I have heard that UV rays are something to consider. That is something certain tints can help with.
