Does the window sticker display build date?

Looking at a 17 at a local dealer and trying to determine the build date and if it has the new canister style oil filter or original spin on.

With a flashlight you can peer through the drivers side wheel at about the 7 to 8 o'clock position. Best if done out of direct sunlight. If you see the white you got the canister.

Perhaps - mine says May 25, 2016

If you are physically looking at the car, the white label on the drivers side door jam has the build date at the bottom.

Mine has the date for Nov 11, 2015 but with ā€˜Blendā€ just underneath...wonder why yours doesnā€™t have the ā€˜Blendā€™...So to answer the OP, yes, itā€™s on the WS.

The one I'm looking at says:
12016923
Blend

And on the bottom it says 09 16 16

When did the canister oil filter go in?

That car will have a spin-on type filter. The date on mine is 10/16/16 and it has the spin-on. I believe it was in Dec '16 or Jan '17 when the canister filter came into use.

Some sources have the date as 1/27/17...Iā€™d wait for others to weigh in.

Built in 2015 or 16 - it has the old style spin on type.

What I posted is from a PDF I downloaded from Ford way back when. Are you looking at your actual sticker?

Interesting. My original WS on the car doesnā€™t have the dates at the top we were talking about. It does have this series of numbers that are close to the blend date I referenced earlier. If so, itā€™s 7 days earlier just under ā€˜Special Orderā€™ center bottom. Couldnā€™t get the pic to post.

Looked at it today. Confirmed September 2016 build and of course spin on oil filter.

Nothing wrong with that - just make sure that you (or the service tech) do the proper torque when installing a new one.

I certainly wouldn't make it a purchase decision, for sure. That is, don't let it kill an otherwise good deal on the right car.

I agree. I wouldn't let the fact that a GT350 equipped with a spin-on/off filter be a buying issue. As long as the filter is torqued to spec it will not work itself off. I've replaced 3 spin filters so far, torqued them correctly and even witness marked them on the filter and the block for the hell of it and none have never moved a speck on a car that's driven hard.

I willing to buy it if the dealer is willing to deal. Been there since September of 16.

Also, confirm that the oil line recall work has been done (if applicable).
