I did the same. Every tire issue I've had the past several years has been a puncture (nails and bolts most prevalent). I also keep a heavy-duty plier and a beefy diagonal cutter in the trunk with the repair kit to pull out whatever punctures the tire. I haven't used it yet either but peace of...
This is great feedback. I'm close to ordering the MGW (I probably will at some point in the near future) but I feel the same as you about the positive aspects of the OEM shifter. I'd like some improvement (the 1st to 2nd grind I get regularly is annoying - no pop outs or buzzing yet though) but...
Rockauto (rockauto.com). MOTORCRAFT XO5W50QGT Full Synthetic Motor Oil. $6.75 a quart. With cheapest shipping a case of 12 (2 extra quarts) should be around $90 bucks.
If you have a August of 2017 build date iyou woudl have a canister oil filter. The canister replaced the spin-on filter and made its debut in February of 2017 if I recall.
We had a warm day here recently (~ 85 degrees) and I actualy wrote it down:
Oil Temp 210 degrees
Idling: ~35 to 40...
Did anyone get definitive feedback as to what the actual failed component was when they lost the engine? If I recall, regarding a number of the failures that I've read about on this forum, Ford was tight lipped as to the root cause and any feedback gathered came from the dealer service...
Well said. Maintain it properly, watch your oil and pressure and then drive it like it was made to be driven. You cant control much after that so, no use worrying about something that may or may never happen.
Well, shitting my pants never actually crossed my mind, LOL, but I do get your point. I drive the car without a worry. She drives fine and doesn’t burn any appreciable oil (at least so far). I do agree that metal dropping in to the filter while cutting it crossed my mind, though I put the Dremel...
I've used Blackstone in the past. I didn’t use them on my first GT350 oil change at 1K miles, though I saved a sample of that oil. I plan on doing my 2nd change in the next 30 days and will be shipping a sample in to them.
I did have that oil filter from that 1st change standing on its head...
Rock Auto. This is from an order I made mid-April ($6.36) for 11 quarts. They are at $6.86 a quart today. Sometimes their prices fluctuate to the high-end but if you wait a few days they come back down. I think their stocking system automatically raises the price on their site when they get low...
Factory reccomendation as several others have said. After checking the oil hot, cold, warm...you name it, I've finally settled on checking it 15 mins after I shut it down from running temp and that seems to me to be the most accurate and that's the only way I check it now.
Intalled a Raceseng shift knob:

I've seen a number of posts emphasizing the difficulty of removing the OEM knob. I was concerned about that as I wanted to keep the OEM knob unspoiled but I had no issues (luckily)...
I agree. I wouldn't let the fact that a GT350 equipped with a spin-on/off filter be a buying issue. As long as the filter is torqued to spec it will not work itself off. I've replaced 3 spin filters so far, torqued them correctly and even witness marked them on the filter and the block for the...
1. Purchase Ford Oil filter Motorcraft part # FL-2069-ST. It was specifically engineered for the 350
2. Spread oil on the seal and install
3. Tuouqe to 16-18 ft/lb Ford spec
4. That filter ain't coming off until you want it to
PS: Swap out the oil drain plug at every change too so you get a...
I absolutely recommend them. Would buy again with no issue. They are great for oil changes on the 350. I'm a big dude and have no issues getting under there and getting clearance to work right under the trap door and doing the removal/replacement of the filter and lots of room to get the torque...
