Hey guys! Need help getting the best spacers for my build, front and rear for a mean flush look šŸ”„

I have my 2018 Mustang at the shop getting a Widebody GT500 kit installed. Have basically everything sorted out but I’m going to need spacers so it looks and fits the wheels right. I’ve never used spacers before and could really use some help getting the best spacers I can for my build. The Widebody adds 2 inches to the body in the front, should be the same dimensions as a stock GT500. I’m assuming 1ā€ spacers most likely? I currently have 255/40R19 wheels and would like a flush GT500 look. The rear is staying OEM on width.

Here’s a video of an install done with 255’s, though mine will look better and actually have the paint perfectly matched along with GT500 lighting. The gap between the wheels and the body is too much to ignore šŸ˜‚

Any thoughts on these? Would 35mm be enough? All the stock Mustang wheels I’ve seen aren’t quite flush in the front, there’s an added inch on each side of the fenders with the kit. So I’m hoping this would be enough to make it flush with the fenders.
From what I understand hub centric is the best option too.

You're kind of on your own if you're going that custom. (better way to put it is that you're exploring new territory)

There are 25.4mm per 1", so if you know its 2" off, and you're staying with a PP1 9" wheel and stock offsets, then you need 2*25.4mm = 51mm in spacer thickness.

My advice -
1) Pick your tire width first.. Are you staying with 255s or going wider?
2) then pick a wheel width (that works well for the tire width) with the stretch or bulge for the look you're going for. The wheel will probably only come in limited offsets unless its a fully custom wheel.
3) then use a spacer to cover the rest.

I wouldn't guess that with a body kit like that, that you would stick with stock wheels for very long, so figure out what you're doing with tire and wheels before you spend any money on the spacer would be my recommendation.

Thank you for the help!
I just bought brand new rims and tires less than a month ago, wasn’t planning on doing this kit, but someone smashed my entire front end so now here I am šŸ˜‚

That makes perfect sense, 50mm (2ā€) + my 255 tires = 305’s like the GT500. Going for the Mishimoto Mustang 2ā€ spacers to fill it out, they’re only about $130 for a set. Planning on getting my friends OEM GT500 wheels when he gets drag radials installed at some point.

The rear fenders aren’t changing, do you have a recommendation for what to add to make them fit better in the rear? Guessing no larger than prob25mm?

I think people usually do 20 or 25mm rear spacers with the stock fenders and PP1 wheels to make them more flush.

If you get the GT 500 wheels later, you'll probably have to buy new spacers fwiw.

I need at least 50mm (2ā€) spacers in the front, does anyone see any issue with going any larger? Don’t think I’ll need to go larger, but want to be sure the wheels fit the wide body

I would go with custom wheels. Wheel spacers put more stress on the wheels; sometimes, the spacer bolts will break. Plus, in the world of customization, they are a huge no-no. I would get a proper setup of custom wheels. You're going to be unhappy at the end with spacers.
