There is a world now where both can exist! And I guess maybe that’s the issue… With the initial rollout, there wasn’t going to be a choice so that’s built up quite a bit of resistance and emotion to any form of electrification.

Me personally, If it wasn’t already obvious… I want that AWD hybrid with a sub 3s 0-60 that looks and feels like a Mustang… Our definition of feel is likely very different and that’s ok as long as there is a choice.

Sports cars will likely remain some form of ICE for years to come while commuter cars transition to EV.

Hello; I see you will not let the EV pitch go even in a thread about a fantasy ICE engine. I think you overstate the case concerning resistance to any form of electrification. I and perhaps many on here do not care if you or anyone else drives an electric vehicle. same for hybrids or some othwr vehicle.
The big issues included firstly, as you state, it appeared we were to be forced into EV's against our will. That was a heavy-handed move most any reasonable person should resent.

Next were the financial (read taxpayer money) rewards and punishments for a range of items. I do not know the total cost but figure it could be in the hundreds of billions. Much of that money is still on the books a part of the near 40 trillion national debt.

Then there were the attacks against fossil fuels in general including alphabet agencies such as the EPA which kept making ever more onerous standards for ICE vehicles. Particularly in terms of emissions & MPG. Thankfully some of those punishing standards have been changed.

I am fine with you having an EV. I do not want to have that ownership subsidized with taxpayer monies is a main point. I do not want states mandating EV only sales by 2030 or 2035.

I do not want to have to help pay for an upgraded electric grid with higher electric bills mainly to have adequate supply for EV charging. Let there be an EV owners' tax or fee so the actual buildup of the extra grid capacity is paid for by those who will need it. Same for data centers and other such niche high electricity demand projects.

Hello; I try to avoid the politics of the situation in my posts about EV's. I reread my latest post and do not find political comments. Of course, you may be attempting the ploy of making the false accusation in hopes my comments are deleted. Let it go so we can dream about an ICE engine.
