Why is there so much hate from the 2011+ community?

the same reason an iphone 5S owner hates the iphone 6, or a samsung galaxy s4 owner that hates the s5, etc.

they no longer have the superior, latest and greatest product.
Right and they can't afford to just up grade it becomes jealousy, envy and is expressed as dislike in an vain attempt to make themselves feel better.

I keep seeing a bunch of negativity about the S550's exterior online, yet anyone who's seen my car in person is visibly wow'ed when they do(mustang and non-mustang fans included).

Who cares, they're free to do as they please. They have plenty of other options if the new 'stang doesn't appeal to them.

I like that Ford made the new Mustang vastly different than the S197. I like them both and will likely sell my B302 for a GT350. Imo because they are so different it should keep the values high on the S197

See jingoism. This is the automotive form. Observing it within the same marque is surprising, but must indicate the 2015 is a threat to what they enjoy about their own cars.

I think a lot of the negativity from the 10 - 14 crowd stems from the change from retro to a more modern look. Many of the buyers of the 5th Gen crowd bought them for the throwback retro styling. The S550 is a much more modern looking car, which would naturally turn off the retro group. I have heard this first hand from several s197 owners. The weight gain and arguably minimal HP gain don't help either.

Either way, this s197 owner loves his S550!
I completely understand why they like the s197's retro styling, but do they expect Ford to continue that look forever? It had a great run from '05-'14 -- the 11-14s look really great, but it was time for a new model. Credit to Ford for coming up with a completely new look.

People generally have a tendency to hold at arms length what is new and unknown. I can't even count how many times I've scoffed at my wife for the new things she tries, only to have her laugh and say "I told you so" once I finally come around and give them a try.

Something to Think about

People will say anything at anytime on the Internet. I'm only going through this world once. There is no need to piss people off just because you can. Buy what you like and enjoy the ride. Just saying.

Let the naysayers naysay. Anyone could rant and talk smack about any given product. What really matters is whether the owner of such product enjoys it. Not everyone will be pleased with my choices, but as long as I have a smile on my face, hate on brother... Hate on.

I gave up on another forum because there is one member that seeks out every post about 2015's and does his best to piss all over the subject. There are pages for the other year cars, including his, but he seems to take joy hanging out in the '15 pages stirring up the stink.

For those that have been around the Mustang scene for awhile, this isn't at all new.

Fox Bodies called SN95s fat, or ugly, or worst yet "The Probe looks better." SN95's didn't like the look in the mid cycle refresh to SN95 "Edge." There was a subset of SN95 who said the S197s were ugly, big, etc. Then, when they were refreshed, there were S197 05-09's that hated the look of the 2010+ with the "fat rearend" and the black plastic lower body valences.

I haven't even begun to mention when just taillights changed (e.g. 94/95 to 96-98), or engines changed from Pushrod to Modular, etc. I just ignore it now because I've seen it happen so many times.

It's absolutely nothing new and will unfortunately happen again in 4-5 years. I don't take it personally. I've been a life long Mustang fan and always will be.

My guess is it's simpler than that. I think people get off on being dicks online.

Like the people that run around blaming everything bad on whomever the current President happens to be.

Fortunately, the Mods are very quick to respond to that nonsense here, so we can have mostly productive discussions.

Haters! The car has evolved since it's introduction uninterrupted and will continue to do so. It has reacted to market conditions but at it's core it is and will be the original Pony car. And the new one is pretty damn nice. Remember, Ford is not done with this car. With so many mods out there and factory tweaking, the potential of this car is amazing. It's my first and I regret waiting too long. Thanks for setting the table you silver pony's. Glad to now be part of the herd.
