I'm curious if anyone knows why the section below the bumper on some cars are the same color as the car and some are black. I ordered a GT Premium Convertible in Oxford White and I'm really hoping that section is black on my car because I love the contrast. At first I thought it might be different depending on whether it's a GT, EB, base model, 50 AP, etc., but I've seen a couple of pics (both GTs) that are different. Anyone know? Attached are a couple of pictures that members have posted of their cars that are different.

the black is the premium model (i believe). The same color means that it is a base model.

Great! I ordered GT Premium so I'll get what I want. When they had a 2015 Mustang at my dealer several months ago when they were doing the training, the Ford rep told me mine would have the contrast, but when I talked to my sales rep 3 weeks ago when I test drove the GT, he had no clue there was a difference or that some had the black contrast.

It never ceases to amaze me how ignorant salespeople are about the cars they sell. And they will just make shit up to avoid having to go find the actual answer. I've been told that the base stereo has a subwoofer in the trunk, BLIS is standard on all models, and assorted other BS by salespeople about the new Mustang.

I agree that sales men should have to know their products well. Reality is people are generally lazy. They are gonna just learn the bare minimum in most cases about their new cars and Pick up things along the way. We, including me, are obsessed with this car. Me and pretty much most of this community have read almost everything published on the car the past few months. I'd say we were experts and the sales men are not. That's the reality here.

Wonder why the contrasting diffuser was deemed "premium" by Ford? I guess it's a matter of subjective taste, but you're getting less body painted for your money with the Premium. From that perspective, the unpainted diffuser seems like it should be the base, and the painted diffuser should be the premium.

The diffuser is painted on the premium. I think the black part (on the premium) above the diffuser looks much nicer. But like you said, it's a matter of taste.

Some sales people did not even know about the ordertracking.... kid was like. What? There is? What is the website? Lol.... same kid that told me no xplan, I will pay your 500 if you buy this one, but with the crowd around the new Mustang, I wound up telling the other customers about the car...lol

Normallly I prefer all body panels and mirrors are color keyed, but on the 2015 Mustang the contrast looks much better and the other thing is the side skirts and front splitter are matte black so it doesn't match when they paint the lower bumper but not the other trim.

I have always loved some black trim on my white cars. Worked out great this year.
