Why is nobody talking about this? (Automatic GT + PP)

Now this one is intriguing. We have somebody on here who posted their dealer order of an AUTOMATIC GT with the Performance Package. Now on that thread there were some naysayers saying the order would be cancelled. But if the package doesn't exist how the hell did the dealer even have an autonatic performance package WITH A DESCRIPTION that EVEN SUBSTITUTES 3.55 GEARS over the manuals 3.73 gears. This mean in my mind unequivocally that Ford HAS planned an automatic performance pack either as a secret option or as something for contingency. I find this graphic amazing. Hasnt anyone else wonderer about this?

Interesting combos exist before things are finalized and sometimes you can sneak through something that shouldn't exist. I've seen it before in trim packages and option groupings.

But theres something up here because if the dealer just tried to force through a performance pack on an automatic it wouldn't change the text of the description to say 3.55 gears. That is somebody knowingly programing that description in for an automatic perf pack. The 3.55 by itself is a totally different option and optiin code

That wouldn't explain it. First of all he did submit it because they did it that day. Second of all it doesn't explain the CONTEXTUAL performance pack option with the altered description. It has to exist in that form for it to show up there. The dealer didnt type that in. They put in a code.

Sorry SeaStang, but I think he's right. It's logical and makes perfect sense, especially since there are no prices on the order page. Means to me, it's not an order, but a pre-submission.

This really isn't a glitch, do you think it knows how to make up is own appropriate gear ratio for a 67g when selected with automatic? This is a PLANNED thing created in the system for an auto perf pack. Now the only quesion is why was it put in the system and is ot really available?

I would agree with these guys it doesn't look right. It's been well known that you can't order auto+pp this year. I would check with Tricia (FordService) to see what is going on and report back to this thread so we all know a definitive answer.

btw seastang, where did you find this? there might be more clues there one way or the other. But don't get your hopes up Ford has explicitly stated no PP for the Auto...more so that LE is the only one that comes with PP and Auto option.

Right I understand all of that. Yes its clearly a screen priot to submit. But in that thread the guy goes in detail about sitting with the dealer putting the order through etc. And even if it DOESNT GO THROUGH the very fact that a contextual 67G for automatics exist should be of note to people.

Show us the thread then, so we have all the tid bits of info you have. Also i'm trying to find an LE w/ auto to see if it says anything different. And yes they could potentially add pp to the auto but not as of yet.

It's here at the bottom of the page. And the most interesting thing is he wasnt even going in looking for a perf pack he was looking for a 3.55 for his auto and the dealer found that and added it.
