Progressive wanted almost $500 more than Travelers, so... after a decade they lost my business. The reason the rates are going up isn't so much people crashing (it's rare despite the YouTube videos) - it's that when you crash one of these, they seem to need to be totaled for even the most minor impact, especially in the rear.

That and insurance companies are FOR SURE hedging for cash right now.

Getting old helps, I pay $750 per year for full coverage with 500 deductible, gap insurance, windshield, roadside assistance, rental car.. the works.

Now if only getting old didn't suck much in other ways. :headbonk:

Careful. Once you get too old they start to climb back up.

100% this for areas along the east coast or southern states right now with the big flooding and hurricane damage over the past year.

I'll have to look in to Traveler's for my next renewal in October though, although it should go down since I'll be 25 by then. The Progressive loyalty and pay in full discounts have been what has kept them favorable though.

Yeah, it's going up everywhere. As said about, shop around, you can save some money.

As many mentioned already, there are many variables that influence your premiums. If those variables have not changed much, I suggest you shop around.

I have had Wawanessa for a few years now. I recommend getting a quote from them.

I insure three cars with them. My premiums have held flat over that time. Recently I replaced an 03 Mach1 and 15 Maserati with an 18 Mustang GT and 18 Maserati. It lowered my 6 month premium by a few $.

I’ve been with AAA for the 10 years I’ve been driving and have a clean record, never made a claim. They wanted to raise my premium $300 for the upcoming year so I dropped them and went to Geico. It’s gonna be about $1300 total for the year. And fuck State Farm, they quoted me $2800.

It has to be the younger people driving mustangs and more accidents. My insurance is $100 more a year on my 18 GT then my 17 GS. Even though the value is like $25K more on the GS. Clean record past 15 years. I had a 14 Shelby GT500 and had a hard time getting my insurance to cover it. I can’t imagine a 20 year old trying to get insurance on a 13/14 Shelby GT500 at a reasonable rate. I know State Farm for example is ok with that car. What’s going to happen when the 19 Shelby GT500 hits the streets insurance wise ?

Gee! I live in Mass and an insurance policy for your car or home is for a year. Whether you pay a lump sum or make monthly payments the price remains constant for a year. My policy goes every year about $50 to $100 but the policy is for three cars

My policy literally doubled at geico as my two tickets just showed up from last summer. I got several quotes that were all around 200/m, but just went with allstate as they were the cheapest by far and with pretty decent coverage as well. I had to bundle the home to get a better rate, but it looks like that's will be a little cheaper too. btw, trying to finalize the paperwork and having a hard time finding the home insurance info as its taken out in escrow with the mortgage. I even thought I had a different company.

It's all BS. Insurance companies are out there to make money. They're going to keep raising rates as long as we need cars.
