To be honest, Ford just wants you in a Mustang. All engine sales are a + for them. I personally think that the profit margins are higher on the eco and 8. So if they make the 6 too attractive they make a little less $. Just look at what you get on that base 6 for the price. It's a ridiculous upgrade from any past base model.

The 6 is a fantastic choice. I ended up with a GT but had a v6 ordered and nearly bought. A couple of things swayed me, but I won't put down that great 3.7. I'd get it over the EB in a heartbeat and the only downside is no Perf Pack. It's great value.

The 3.7L V-6 has very little "falderal"! No drama that I'm aware of. The Rodney Dangerfield of Mustang motors, you know, "I get no respect". My V-6 convertible with every option available except 3.55 axle for a price of $28,700... Unbelievable price and way below X-Plan even. I've had two other vehicles with the 3.7 engine clocking over 150,000 on each motor and neither engine ever had a wrench on it except regular maintenance. Also this little motor has it's own melodious sound. Check it out.
