Hello,

I plan to order a 2016 gt mustang and wanted to know if it's possible to negotiate a price with a dealer (or is that just with cars in their lot) and lastly would you still be able to finance part of the agreed price.

You'll want to make sure you negotiate the price before you put your deposit down and order the car. Everything except the financing should be done up front.

So just to confirm, you can negotiate the price of your own build car just as if they already have it in their lot?

What do you mean by "everything"?

price after tax title and fees, negotiate all of it. They'll give you an agree copy and you put your deposit down. Then when you go get your car, upon inspection you will sign the official papers but all your ground work will be done so it should be pretty straight forward.

To answer your question, yes, you can negotiate. Though some dealers are more willing to be flexible than others, just as with cars on the lot. If you are looking for a hassle-free negotiation, you might want to look up x-plan as an option for you. Most dealers will accept x-plan pricing on ordered cars, and that comes with a fixed price. The sticky at the top of the "Order | Price | Tracking" page on the forum does a good job of explaining what x-plan is and how to get it.
