I saw a video online of a KB car. It had a distinct whine that reminded me of when I had a 2003 Cobra. Is there much difference between the KB and Roush (or even Whipple) that makes the KB so much more pronounced? I'm sure that the "whine" isn't as efficient, but who cares if it sounds so awesome.

Keep in mind, thats the 2.8L KB case. My 3.2 is quiet :(
Running the 2.8 at 12lbs makes a nice clear audible whine, while the same 12lbs on a 3.2 I sound N/A.
If I could spin the blower a little faster(make more boost)i'm sure i'd hear that 3.2 sing.
But im running 93 and e85 wont be in my area for some time im sure

Roush on my 16 is unfortunately way to quiet. Almost no sound.

My whipple screams loud inside the cab from 2.5k all the way to 7800rpm , just saying (needed to modify the sound tube and redirect it to the intake box ) Whipple ftw

The Roush is pretty quiet. You do hear it a little, but of the three it's by far the quietest.

Credit goes to roh92cp , basickly you remove the foam inside the sound tube, cut abit of foam inside the cab where the sound tube enters, and you drill a hole in the intake box andconnect it to the sound tube and you have the whine that I was hoping to get when i bought a twinscrew and was disappointed that I could barely hear it and only at 6K+ rpm but now its there at 2.5k up

The Roush/Eaton 2.3L roots are not as load and closed air box really muffles the sound a lot. For the twin screws like the KB and Whipple they always make more whine noise, however they are also lessoned by closed air box design, though the KB is louder in general because its an open element air filter down in the fender well. Both can enhanced by using the sound generator port and tube though. With the Whipple as stated in my DIY thread you tap into the air box, but with the KB running a 1.5" ID heater hose to the filter would enhance the whine to the cabin as well using the sound generator port and part of the stock tube. Basically install the sound generator at the firewall port and you can cut off where it start to turn up and towards the front of the engine and from there you connect your 1.5" ID heater hose and extend it to the filter.

I've read (or heard) a long time ago that "whine" roughly translates into inefficiency of the blower. This way back in like 2004 hen I had a 2003 Cobra with the Eaton SC.
