I recently installed a whipple stage 2 kit on my 21 M6 GT. I’m on the canned whipple tune.

Few questions.

1. If I wanted to get a custom tune on it, do I need to upload the stock tune or can a new tuner just overwrite the whipple tune?

2. Is there a way to load the stock tune back should a new tuner need that on there?

3. Any of you data log the whipple tune? What is your LAMBDA at wot? Mine seems to be very rich for some reason. Is this just their way of keeping the car extra safe? AFR is on point outside of wot.

It...uhhh...depends. If ease into WOT, meaning I gradually get there, I stay right around .85. Which seems solid. However, If I "punch it", it descends to high 60's low 70's at peak RPM.

Probably COT protection. Do you still have factory catalytic converters?

noob question, whats COT protection? And yes, still on stock catalytic converters. Stock exhaust system still.

Cat Over Temp. Fuel enrichment purposely set to keep converters from potentially overheating.

So other than limiting power, I shouldn't be concerned with it damaging the car in other ways? Given that it is a whipple tune I figured they play it safe and this must be a way of doing it.

Last I checked, Whipple starts at .85 at low rpm then ramps richer to around .77. Cot could drop to .68.
Ok, thanks for insight. Seems like it’s standard on the whipple tune then.
