Are you pulling the line off here (1) or here(2)?Should the line from the pcv to the whipple be sucking in air? When I unplug it, it blows out air. I’m guessing it’s blowing air from the intake when unplugged but I wanted to be sure.
I’m just baffled with this, about ready to sell the car.
You will most likely create crank case pressure with SC OEM engines. Positive crank pressure will also rob HP. I run the UPR whipple pass/drivers side and oil fill cap on valve cover vents. I would run a vacuum pump if I could, but not going their. But, that's just me.I have the dual JLT's (for whipple) and I'm pretty sure I ordered them from BCR as well. (been awhile now, I get a lot of stuff from them over the years).
My point being, I don't seem to have any crank case problems and I've been at over 1100 rwhp for awhile now. I just don't see the need or reason to vent/breathe with a PD blower. I know others have reported frustrations with the non-vented setups, but I haven't experienced that. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe some others have had faulty install.
For a blow through setup, I understand the need for a vent. But for a PD setup, if you're rerouting ahead of boosting, just don't see why it would be necessary to create ANOTHER maintenance item that potentially purges odors that get sucked into the cabin air system.
As long as the tune accounts for any unmetered air contributions, why is there such a common recommendation for vented systems?
If I was getting excessive CC pressure I'd have observed the symptoms by now. My point is, there's no need to run a breather on a PD motor. Breathers are just another maintenance point that has to be serviced to keep oil spotting off engine bay components and deal with fumes/odors coming through the fresh air intake into the cabin. You will most likely create crank case pressure with SC OEM engines.
