Hey guys, I bought a used Whipple kit. It didn't come with any lube. And I'm not sure what the maximum fill is. I notice my spal fans run longer after I turn off the car and I faintly detect a burning smell. I think maybe I'm low on oil for the Whipple and its over heating??? Idk.. Any help would greatly be appreciated. Attached is a pic of where I'm at. Am I low? If so how much do I add and what oil do I add? I've had the SC on for about 3 weeks now

Also that pic is after driving normal no WOT city driving. When is the best time to read the oil level?

You did not put any oil in the supercharger when installing it? You probably toast your compressor

There was some already in there when I received it. It was a lightly used kit

Contact Whipple and purchase a pre filled bottle and only use their oil. They will know exactly what to do.

It should be about halfway filled in the viewing glass I believe. Might be a little low.

The fans stay on for a bit unless you buy the updated pigtail harness to have them come on at 200+ rpm

Make sure you don't run the car anymore if you don't know if your pile level is correct. The oil is to be checked once the car is not running for at least 15 minutes, the level should be in the middle of the window.

lol. Clean the underside of engine and anywhere spilt oil or coolant is from the install. water hose for coolant cleanup and acetone based brake cleaner for oil. Get everything super clean and then find the cause of smell.

Buy a bottle from Whipple. Do not over fill.
Check and make sure your wire harness on back of block is not hanging down on the block. If so build a little bracket out of medium thickness 1" wide Stainless Steel or Aluminum strip from the hardware store and drill a hole and mount it using one of the rear supercharger bolts.
