Can someone help me understand how the power is reduced in this app/tuner. If I chose 25% for all gears what does that mean it? Does it retard the timing? Does it lower the boost? I know very little about SCs but am also curious if you run it at lower levels will it add to the life of the SC.

I think it's 25% less throttle body opening when you floor it

You have flight controls on a 2018 Whipple tune....what version is your tune?

Thanks,

Rob

On my '17 it limits throttle opening. I have inadequate tire for the power the car has, so have been utilizing the power by gear feature. It works pretty decent in my opinion. 1st gear is about 1-2 lbs boost, 2nd 3-4lbs and 3rd is all in.

Seems to work better than trying to pedal the car, but no solid numbers to back that up as we have yet to have a race here this season.

That makes sense! Much appreciated.

Anyone have dyno type results using these features?

I don't have flight control on mine, and I'm fairly confident I have the latest Whipple tune.

I read that there is the tune portion, the PC app, and the OBD adapter. I think there is a charge for it though.

I have the Flare PC app, and it came with an adapter. The app loads the tune as well. However, I think for 2018+ you load the tune with a different handheld/method.
