Hey, just installed a used whipple on my 2015. Seems like the boost is sporadic. It really only sees over 8lbs. In 1st and 2nd above 5500 rpm. This is my first pd blower so I'm kind if perplexed. I thought these blowers would go full boost anytime above 3k rpms. Sometimes 4th and 5th gear at 3500 rpms wot will only make like 2.5 lbs. Any ideas? Where should I start? Thanks for any help.

I will post my logs in a min. The boost ramps up, you won't see full boost at 3000 rpms.

Ok, this is a log of my 100 octane tune. I only included the RPM, timing and boost; in that order. I am running a 3.5 pulley with this tune. 93oct tunes won't run this much timing lol.

Thanks for posting. Mine still seems really low. I'm going to try and get a video and post it up.

What are you using for the tune?

Ok cool. So I take it that when you purchased it used you obtained the 72lb injectors for it? If the previous user was using the Whipple flare tool and tune as well, then you would have gotten the 72's with it I'm sure. Is it the 3.75 inch pulley? If you feel boost is low, or inconsistent, first thing I would look at is the bypass valve. Make sure it is opening and closing as it should, and that the diaphragm is in good shape. It is an easy check, that's why i'd look at that first.

How are you measuring boost?
That was gona be my next question. Good call. Different ways of reading boost will yield drastically different numbers.

I'm using the factory map and readout. I know it may not be extremely accurate but gives a good indication of how the boost is reacting. Jeff @ whipple just had me turn off the knock setting in the flight control and it definitely helped. Kind had me worried about how high the boost went. I saw 12 psi at the top of 2nd. I'm running 72lb with the 3.75 pulley. Definitely more boost coming in earlier now.

I'm just going into the gauges function in the data center and it reads vacuum and boost.

I wouldn't pay attention to that mine reads from like 9-16 pounds of boost with my whipple but sometimes when it wants to read right it will stay around 10-12 lol

Let me ask another question. I've had 2 single turbo 3v cars that made 480-500 rwtq @ 3500rpms. Both of those cars on street tires would just light the tires up at 40mph and I would have to keep pedaling until I hit 3rd. From what I've seen the whipple should be making around the same tq. At 3500. Should my car be spinning like crazy on crappy street tires with my whipple in 2nd gear?
