Hey guys, I need an opinion.

I’m gonna be adding some longtube headers to my 2017 GT, and i’m deciding between Kooks or American Racing Headers. I will be getting catted headers and I have a Corsa Xtreme Catback already on the car. I’m thinking i’m gonna be getting 1 3/4” headers but i’m open to suggestions between 1 3/4” and 1 7/8” (will be a FBO NA car with the hopes of going FI in a couple years.) Please leave me your suggestions and any experiences with any of this! Thanks!

ARH and Kook's are top notch options in regards to quality and fitment. You wouldn't make a wrong decision with going with either option. ARH does have a Corsa direct connect option that designed to work exclusively with Corsa catbacks. Feel free to send me a PM or give us a shout if you have any other questions. Thanks!

Can’t comment on ARH, other than I’ve heard good things, but I can say Kooks are great. Had them on 3 cars now. Fit and performance are top notch. If you’re planning on FI, go 1 7/8. It’s a job you only want to do once

I only have experience with 1 3/4" catted ARH headers, which has been great, and I'm sure the Kooks are as well. Those were the only two brands I seriously considered when shopping around. The full ARH system fits perfectly, no leaks. I ended up welding in Magnaflow 14419 14" mufflers after the x-pipe to quiet it down since my local track has a sound limit (96db) and I was still able to get the tips perfectly centered in the back. Sounds awesome too.

I did it with my car on race ramps which is totally doable but I hope I never have to take them off. If you have plans to go FI in the future then go straight to the 1 7/8".

Kooks are more of a mid length header if that matters to you. ARH are full longtubes.

If going FI stick to 1 7/8. I have catted ARH with direct connect to Corsa Xtreme. I loved the Xtremes stock but on LTH it became a bit much. Cold starts will be brutal regardless but the tone changes some too. I ended up adding a pair of Vibrant 1794s in to calm it down a bit and still maintain 3" in and out.

I have the Corsa headers and have been pretty pleased. Have heard that Corsa worked very closely with ARH when designing their header FWIW.

I like ARH for the true 3" connection. Kooks are outstanding except that one minor feature.

The Corsa header is probably good too since it pairs easy with their catbacks like ARH does.
