I'm deciding betweem MM and Steeda based on reading these forums. My car is a daily driver as well as track days so noise is a big issue for me. There is nothing worse than a clunking strut top IMO. I have heard that MM start to make noise after a few thousand miles but that Steeda are quiet for the long haul.

Does anyone have any feedback?

I have had my Steeda camber plates on close to a year now with Koni struts and I have found no added noise using these camber plates.

I just recently installed the Steeda Camber Plates. I think the noise would only be if they were installed incorrectly. Typically not getting the strut nut tightened properly. When I took my car to the performance alignment shop after installing the camber plate, the tech said how much he liked the Steeda camber plate vs the typical ones he sees with the slider plates. I certainly couldn't explain but the Steeda plates are much better technology. I bet if you asked SteedaTech, he could explain. I haven't had any noise.

Steeda is an easy win in my eyes. Seats the upper bearing of the spring seat perfectly and the bearing is excellent and mounted in an extremely solid housing (no flex). I had camber plates from another company prior and they bent just torquing them to spec and did not seat the upper spring bearing well causing the strut assembly to spin the spring on the rubber mounts, which caused obvious issues. Get the Steeda ones, be happy.

Anytime you add a BEARING over a BUSHING, do not cry about some extra noise here and there. Steeda's bearing isn't causing noise. Bearings transmit noise that comes from elsewhere more because there is no rubber. Such is life. Sorry, but anyone who says I have no additional NVH after slapping bearings all over their car (like my car has) is deaf. I have VERY LITTLE NVH even with delrin engine mounts and aluminum differential inserts, but know a bearing will transmit road noise (especially abrupt bumps) more. Steeda's bearing being in such an extremely stable housing and being specially designed for their camber plates preceisely to prevent knock common to inferior camber plate bearing designs, especially over time, is why I chose Steeda's after my issue with the other set I had. I have tracked my car numerous times and had my camber adjusted far more than I'm willing to admit and I have zero issues with Steeda's. Frankly I'm amazed at how little NVH I get despite how bearing-infused my car is. It's remarkable really. My Subaru was all stiffened up with bearings and knocked like crazy all the time. I was told this was "normal" - but it sucked. It was probably because they just used off the shelf bearings.

Also, don't be swayed by plates that offer "castor" adjustment. Not even remotely necessary on these cars and that is achieved by making your camber slots wider, which just introduces more opportunity for slipping and noise. Caster on these cars is fine.

Thanks for the feedback everybody.

I completely understand that. My GT3 had every bit of rubber in the suspension replaced with spherical bearings and it was awesome. There is a difference between ordinary bearing noise and noise caused by inferior bearings that wear prematurely (IMO). I had a set of BC Racing Coilovers (read: junk) in an STi and it literally sounded like firecrackers going off every time you hit a bump. It was unbearable (no pun intended).

We have a lifetime guarantee on our patented independently adjustable caster camber plates. We are able to offer the warranty because we have our bearings made to our specifications. The bearings we have made are almost twice as strong as the standard COM12T most other companies use. We accomplish this by using a different race material and liner, instead of using the standard PTFE wire mesh from Fenlon we use a sintered bronze wire net impregnated with PTFE powder. If you have any questions about our plates we would be happy to answer them.

Just installed the Steeda plates this past weekend. I am a machinist and have been in metal working for 18 years now. I will say I am impressed by the level of quality of these camber plates. I will note I don't have experience with other offerings so nothing against anyone else's plates, but can say the Steeda's are nice and I would recommend them.

The Maximum Motorsports camber plates are quiet. All the plates will transmit a sharper thud over pothole lips and abrupt expansion joints and such. Just a fact of life when you remove rubber. Not the same thing as knocking/rattling from play in a bearing. You can't go wrong with the Steeda stuff either from the looks of it. Enjoy.

I'm using the Maximum Motorsports ones. No issues so far. If I'm not mistaken they are one of the first inventors of the independent caster/camber plates.

They were the first to make independent caster/camber plates for the Fox Mustang. Keep in mind that the MM plates are not independent adjustment on the S550 platform. We are the only company that offers independent adjustment of caster and camber for the S550 platform.

Went ahead and ordered the Steedas. Also running ultralites so figured may as well keep it in the same family.
