Since you're already tuned won't that alter the readings? I thought the PMAS non tune came with a calibrated MAF and you're supposed to use the stock one for the tuned version....Am I missing something
Your are correct. With their supplied MAF, no tuning changes made. I logged it with my tuner to check the validity of their claims, and so far, they're holding up. Dyno tomorrow morning will tell the full story.

Forced induction is always a good idea, lol! Or throw a set of headers on it. Or some numerically higher gears. 4.10s with a PD blower would be insane!
For one there are no 4.10's available for these cars and two that is one of the dumbest suggestions I've seen in a long time matching those gears with F/I.
Please help a noob LOL. What is this converter you speak of?

4.10 gearing with a blower, seriously? The traction issues would be like trying to race with bald stock tires on a wet track.

LOL! I think he back in the day of the 4.6L 4V's where 4.10's and 4.30's and 4.56's were very, very popular.

I went Steeda. Big surprise, right?

I love the fit and finish and the look of it, under the hood is perfect. So I vote, Steeda. @David@Steeda can hook you up with great pricing if you decide to use them.

I just got back from getting my car dyno tuned from a local company. On 93 octane, I made 415RWHP/386RWTQ with CAI and catback as my only mods.

On the factory tune, CAI and catback, I made 395RWHP. All the numbers are SAE, too.

This is a local shop that has built a ton of S550's, Hellcat, SRT, Corvettes, etc.

Hey Todd. Is that a dry filter?

That is an oiled filter. Dry filters are typically white.

Torque Converter
I'm not sure that is worth it to do that. My Bama race tune adds tweaks to the torque converter lock/unlock, according to them. How exactly it works I don't know. I'm gonna ask them just for curiousity sake. But for instance on the race tune - as I come through a corner and tap the gas pedal, I feel the torque right away and the tires squeal with minimal effort. On the stock tune or the performance tune it does not do this. So with my extremely limited knowledge that's what I attribute it to. It must have something to do torque converter settings.

Even with 3.15 gears my car moves. I do not know what power I am making but I would estimate between 390-405whp, considering that many folks have dynoed 400whp with just a catback and stock tune.

I do not want headers - they're awesome but just too loud for me and not easily reversible. Then if I have an engine failure that's a $10,000 problem now.

But CAI and tune still interest me, for many reasons even if the power gain is minimal or none.

Actually FRPP has a 4.09 gearset available now. Agreed that it'd be stupid on FI.

I don't think you understand how a converter works.

I realize that but it's not a direct swap into the housing with the 3.15's.

...I tried the Airaid, but encountered this problem with under hood heat. The plastic lid distorts with the heat and causes the IAT to climb. The issue occurs with the plastic placed either on the top or beneath the aluminum piece.

Good design, but fails in its execution IMO.
This is why I'm leaning towards the Injen intake at this point. Just like the airaid but better lid on it that won't warp open like that. Either that or the Afe intake which is also similar.

For your mods, the stock intake with supply all that you need and do it in the safest way possible.

That said, out of all of the aftermarket intakes, the PMAS caught my attention. I am not a believer in aftermarket intakes on these cars, but if one has the chance to do something, I think it will be that one.

I purchased a PMAS "no tune" specifically to test it back to back against the stock intake. I have a dyno appointment for Thursday morning at 11am to find out if it is worth a sh*t.

The other "no tune" intakes with an insert near the MAF to keep the same transfer area are the biggeset sham since bottled water. You're literally restricting airflfow to the stock size, regardless of whatever fancy filter, to make sure the MAF is reading the correct amount of air.
I am patiently awaiting your results especially with the Pmas with the hood closed.

Spinning ain't winning. You would not be able to put any power to the ground with that setup. Many FI members have switched out their 3.73s to taller gearing just to get more traction, would be even worse with shorter 4.09s
