Which 18 would you buy?

Car 1. GT premium, 401a package, auto trans, perf pack 1. OTD price $41,400 everything included but my sales tax of $300.00 MSRP of $48,180.00

Car 2. GT base, 301a package, auto trans, perf pack 1, magnaride, active exhaust. OTD price $38,650 before sales tax. MSRP of $46,175.00

I’m torn. I want to lower the car, but I also really want the active exhaust and the 12 inch screen as part of the 401a. Magnaride seems to really limit lowering the car much. Is there a cost effective way to add the active exhaust? How about magnaride, any lowering options besides gt350 springs?
I also have a $750. Private cash offer to add to either deal. Do these prices look good?

I would go with car 2. Leather in the summer is painful. However, the A/C seats with remote start would be ok. I love magneride, personally. I also have no complaints about the features with my 301A sync3 infotainment system. The GT350 ford performance springs are our best option for now. However, Steeda and BMR will have magneride specific springs out in the near future. Both prices are great.

What are your long term plans with the car? Will you keep it forever?

If you plan on selling it in a few years, buy the base. Both cars will be worth the same a few years down the road and might as well save a few thousand up front when buying new. They will both depreciate like crazy.

That said... I don't like leather and the 301A cars offer plenty of the creature comforts that come with premium cars. Love mine!!

Ohhh, that makes sense. Ya property taxes in AZ are not bad at all but they get you on sales tax and registration fees.

Colorado's registration fees are ridiculous as well. What should be a 70 dollar fee now becomes a 700-800 fee here. And guess what, its that amount pretty much every year for the next 5-6 years.

My little 1200 sq ft home is $10k a year on property and school tax.

I went base GT performance pack. Active exhaust would have been a $3000 upgrade because you have to have 301a to run it. Also opted out of magnaride to lower the car for track use. All the money I saved went under the hood, whipple style. I have a decked out F150 and honestly the leather and bling makes no difference to me. I’ll never drive the car under 50 degrees out. I couldn’t gamble on dropping $5000 on stuff I would be trying to sell in a year. Everyone I know with active exhaust sets it and forgets it.

As you swap the driving modes the new active exhaust swaps its modes. A really well thought out system and a credit to Ford. It's not just a dumb set it and forget it by any means.

It works a treat.

Understand but what I meant was most select the mode they most prefer after playing with it for a week and then leave it, usually sport mode.

Not one of the two options, but here's what I did.

2018 GT Premium with PP1, 400A, and MT82D4. No active exhaust since I'll switch out the exhaust anyway. No magnaride since I plan on doing suspension within a year. The 400A doesn't have the digital dash, but I'm a fan of the analog dashes anyway. The little digital screen between the tach and speedo works fine and is the same as my F-150.

Being a GT Premium, it still has MyColor and ambient lighting, leather seats with heating/cooling, heated mirrors, etc. That's enough creature comforts to keep me happy.

My out the door price before sales tax and not counting trade was a little under $35k after rebates (dealer rebate, KC auto show rebate, college rebate, employee discount, etc.). I had no sales tax due to a more expensive trade. It's a good compromise between price and features. I did something similar with my F-150 w/ 3.5EB. Enough premium to be "spoiled" while not going all out.

I'd go base PP 301A magneride. What are the colors of these cars? Is there a color you prefer?

All you non Californians don't know nothing about taxes. 9.5% sales tax. Over 1% registration fees. 1.1% property tax before a crap load of public transportation, school, city service bonds which add another $1500 a year. The only thing we have on our side is dealer doc fees are capped at $80.

The new DMV registration fees are ridiculous. I'm sure the state will start a new tax to help pay for the train that's gone way over budget.

Where are you seeing 9,500 off in Atlanta? The best I've found is 8,000.

I paid ~7k under sticker for mine? 2018GT Premium PP car with 401a and security in ruby. 46,700 MSRP, OTD price was 39,500, including tax, tags, title, etc. I had some equity in my trade though, which not only cut down the OTD price some, but also the taxes. Your mileage may vary.

Also, to share, I'm paying about $6k under sticker for my car, and I custom ordered it (so no significant dealer discounts). and my sales tax will be 6.5%, so ill be paying close to an extra $3k OTD... Now, it's been a while since I bought a car in the states, and I've never bought one in Texas. Any Texans in here that know how much tags and title are in the state?

The property tax on my $400k house is $1200 a year. Property tax on my $40k car was about $500 for the year. So that $500 sales tax is nice, but they will get you in the long run. Luckily the property tax on the car gets reduced over the years.
