Quite the opposite. Friend had an '11 with the metal top on his knob. He was constantly burning his hand in the summer time and kept a rag over it for that reason.
Report back this July/August and let's see who has palm blisters. (From shift knobs, not shifting your knob that is. :D )
Metal knobs burn the shit out of you in the summer! It was one thing about my Bullitts that drove me nuts. The aluminum shifter knobs look trick as hell, but suck when it's really hot or cold.

Any knob like any of the Speed Dawgs pictured will not be a problem.....

Just ordered 5.0 black with red pattern/ralley strips. Speed told me that with reverse lock out its on a 3 to 4 week back order.
Yep. Mine was delivered one day shy of three weeks from date of order. I'm pretty happy with it.

In the Winter I wear thin driving gloves with touchscreen enabled finger tips. Helps combat the touch coldness everywhere and I still can use the touch screen.

The more and more I look at this car's set up I can't help but dislike the entire shift collar lock out. It's too busy. I wish the bright chrome interior parts would have been a bit more neutral. I might see if its possible to remove the collar and paint it black so its a little less obvious. Might have to just go for one of these short shifter kits that delete it all together. I would like to get another TWM knob. I am a bit of a shift knob whore if I'm honest, but the last TWM knob I had gave me no desire to change.

I think I discovered that the Focus and Fiesta St's use the same shift knob dimensions with recess for reverse lockout. I saw some of the guys talking about using the 2015 mustang knobs on their cars. Apparently they screw right on. This could open some doors for more variety.

Actually if you go to the CJ PONY site they list their knobs for Fiesta ST, Focus ST and 15 Mustang.

Any pics of the Focus or Fiesta set ups?

Anyone know how resistant to scratches these are? A previous BMW I had with a wooden shift knob got scratched over time by my college ring, and I was wondering if that might happen with these from speed dawg. Also, because of the loctite, can they be removed later? I really want one.

Not sure about the scratch resistance factor, Wasbmw. The material seems pretty hard. But I could see constant contact with a ring causing scratches.

I used blue locktite, which I think is supposed to be semi-permanent. I know it hasn't moved since I installed it. Hopefully, it'll break loose if I ever do decide or need to take it off.

The blue loctite is removable. It's the red that's not. As far as scratching I'm not sure.

FYI, when it comes to Loctite;

Purple = low strength
Blue = Medium
Red and Orange = High
Green = wicking medium strengrh
