Wheel Locks?

Has anyone found wheel locks that look good on the GT350 with the exposed lug nuts? Thinking of these: http://www.cjponyparts.com/gorilla-...style-bulge-black-chrome-2015-2017/p/WHLLN28/ The all black might look cool, but I'm worried about them rusting and the very high torque setting that's recommended for the GT350.

Those are quality nuts. They are designed to be used in conjunction with the factory torque requirement (which is the same across the board on S550 vehicles and not limited to just the GT350). And the finish is excellent from an anti-corrosion perspective. I wouldn't worry about them.

Good question and one I would ask. Are you using your car as a daily driver where it would be parked outside in an area where it would be unmonitored for long periods?:shrug:

Great question. I would think it would slow them down. I am not so worried about the tires/wheels being taken as that's what insurance is for, but I am worried about potential damage done to the car and inconvenience. I am not daily driving it, but when taking it to work on occasion it sits in a lot for 8-12 hrs at a time (albeit a physician's parking lot, but I work odd hours often when many people are not around).

Hmm well here is the thing if you car is in the same place often even if you wheel locks deter them initially they will just return later prepared.

But if they are cheap enough I guess the piece of mind is good, i have never bothered with them.

But if prepared wheel locks take almost no time to get off (and gt350s are not common enough for them to leave your car alone and go the next one)

Criminals are creatures of habit and take the path of least resistance. More homes and cars without alarms are broken into than those that do. Making the objects they intend to steal more difficult than another car has a definite outcome on the likelihood of your car being targeted. At the very least slowing them down provides a greater chance for them to be apprehended or interrupted in their act. I would advise that everyone spend the $50 that could protect your wheels from being stolen and left on blocks like another member that had it happen to them here. I wouldn't just throw my hands up and say there was nothing you could do to stop it. In my career I run into a lot of people with that mentality and they are ultimately the ones who get victimized.

I agree in concept. But with how rare the GT350 I wonder if that would apply. If its cheap enough and you are worried it doesnt hurt.

I put on the Gorilla locking lugs. I would rather slow someone down then make it easy.

As we all know, locks are for honest people. If they want it bad enough, they will find a way.

I think I will be getting these: 96643BDX from SFX Performance for $83 (including shipping). My OCD doesn't like having one out of five different, which I just realized is how the locks are in the original link I posted.

Ok Ok, now I've got it. I need five of these kits, with 5 different keys. At $20 each will come to $100, and drive the mechanics crazy when I need new tires, I could mix and match the locks to different wheels so you never know what key works what nut, lmao. Lets see someone hammer a socket onto these!

I've thought about getting some lock nuts since I daily my car. I haven't worried enough to research and order any yet though. I guess I figure I'll worry about it after someone bothers to steal my wheels and I get replacements.
