You got both ends of the spectrum. The good mechanics, and the ones that give them a bad name.First off thank you all for your advice/comments/replies.
I knew it would not be the bearing as I've had these go in previous cars hence why I did not instruct Ford to carry out the repair.
So today my car went of to Melksham Tyres, who I have used a lot for tyres and alignment etc and they are very good at what they do.
Just before I left he asked for wheel nut lock key, I couldn't find it so came back to my office. Phoned Ford as it was there on Wednesday, they asked the technician and he said they did not remove the wheel! :eye bulge:
Checked in car and found it, (did a man look first time).
Took it back to Melksham Tyres and within 10 mins they phoned and said all sorted, loose hub nut! I had to force him £20 for his time. So just one loose 32mm hub nut needed a tighten.
So a little different than the £400 Ford wanted for a perfectly working wheel bearing and the fact they did not even remove the wheel amazes me.
I will be going back there on my way home tonight to discuss this and see what they can offer me before I take this case higher.
Unbelievable! :headbonk:
Sadly all too believable. Good result thoughUnbelievable! :headbonk:

Believe me I'm not taking this lightly."Discuss". I'd be doing a bit more than that, the cheeky fuckers!
Yeah really pleased it's sorted, really pissed off at local Ford garage though.Sadly all too believable. Good result though![]()
I'd go in just ranting and raving for the heck of it. :lol:I'd be tempted to go in there ranting and raving that your entire wheel fell off just to put the wind up them.
Fitting they'll punt you out first ;)!They have a special launch this weekend for the Fiesta, I'm hoping the showroom is full of punters!
(Not sarcasm)
