I couldn't find the wheel arch trim covers but they must be there somewhere.

These diagrams could be very useful when trying to dismantle our Mustangs.

When I took off the battery cover I managed to drop the rivets down inside the engine bay never to be seen again (but on looking I did find a massive bolt resting loose inside the frame). Oh, it happens to us all believe me. I managed to ping one of the battery cover ones off when wiring the sto n sho and it shot back and disappeared into the small gap by the bonnet hinge (sods law means that they never, EVER just land somewhere convenient)! I could see it lying right at the bottom of the wing void :doh:

However, having a well stocked garage meant that I simply use my cable pulling rods and a piece of gaffer tape stuck to the end (sticky side out) to retrieve it

In fairness, sometimes they're called snap rivets or even fir trees - but they're far more commonly known (in my experience at least) as trim clips.

Pop rivets are so-called because of the pop when you pull the shank out and break it off.

There are some pop rivets on the car - but the ones I've seen are aluminium. The black plastic ones are snap rivets/trim clips.

They're pretty ubiquitous. You can get some from the dealer of buy a box set on eBay etc. (just look for Ford trim clips):
