I'm pretty new to the whole wheel and tire setup for drag racing. I'm looking to buy MT et streets Rs 275-40-17 for my rear. I found a wheel that is 17x9. It's the bullit wheel from American muscle that I've seen a few on here use. Before I ask my questions I'll say I'm looking for more of a budget build. My mustang gt is a non PP base car with 3.55s gears.

1. Will the Mt 275-40-17 on the 17x9 fit in the rear? I dont have brembos.

2. American muscle says the wheel will not fit my car yet I've seen a few people say it does on here. If it does fit is there any additional things I need to do? Get different lug nuts, shave my calipers, ext?

3. I have no idea what to do for my fronts so any help is appreciated. I do have the stock factory18s up front. Would the stock wheel and tire be ok up front? Or should I get different tires and wheels for the front. The tires on the front now are the factory 235 p zero all seasons.

American muscle stinks. Go check out CJ pony or LMR. You can pick up sve wheels cheap. For your car that is a good tire choice. For now you don't need skinnies up front. A little more expensive, but you might want to check with Lethal Performance and Beefcake racing to see what they can do on a set of race stars.

What size wheel and tire do you reccomend up front with 17x10 or 17x9 in the back?

For drag only. I'd go with 18x5.

I have the 17x9's with the S197 offset & they work great. $100 a piece & weigh the same as rear Race Stars. Stock lug nuts & studs work great, no rubbing & work great on my 19 PP1 & my buddy's base model 19

Oops, yes 305/45/17
That was my first choice but I ended up getting 275/40/17s et street ss. I drive to the strip so I wanted it to be more drivable just in case I get caught in rain. I live in ohio so a 0% chance could easily be 100% 5 minutes later haha.

I agree, it's the only pair they had at my local shop though. I was impatient haha. I'm going to the strip tonight so hopefully they will be a big difference over my 235 all seasons lol

Post up a pic. Must have 6in of wheel gap. That tire is like 25.9in?
