Just turned 50.Race engine builder/machinist,master craftsman.
Started working for Richie Zul (ex pro-stock racer) in the eighties. We did mostly high dollar offshore marine engines and took quite a few championships over the years.
Went on to help Bill Mitchell/Hardcore Racing get his crate engine program off the ground when he split World Products and Dart Engineering up.
In 2002 I purchased S-K Speed Racing Equipment, which is 1 of the oldest speed shops on the east coast.Today we have a 5000 sf showroom,a 8000 sf warehouse, and a 3500 sf machine shop.
I am also married to Ms.Motion.If anyone remembers Motion Performance from the 70's.Robin also works for my bud nicky at American Racing Headers. So if you have headers from ARH,Robin picked all of the parts and packed them.

Alright,enough history/nostalgia for now.......

I totally understand.
I worked at a shop for 2 1/2 years that did mostly high performance work. We built and installed motors, heads, cams, turbos, superchargers, clutches, nitrous kits, had an in ground chassis dyno so we tuned cars as well, all the normal HP stuff. When I would get home from work, I had zero desire to work on any of my stuff.

Same here, other than I went with an above ground Dyno, but all the rest is the same. It was great for a while, just a damn good time. Going to the track was part of my "job". The problem was suddenly my car was never ready. Work all night on customers stuff and be too tiered to finish mine. I even got a spot on pinks all out, summer of 08 if I remember correctly. Had to borrow a car to go because mine wasn't ready. The car I borrowed ended up having trans issues and that was that. Not only didn't I get to enjoy the event, I had to fix a car for free. That was the beginning of the end. Lost interest really fast from there. I sold my car and didn't buy another for 6 year. That's the longest I've ever went without a toy car. Glad it's just a hobby now, though some days I do miss the screaming cars on the Dyno!

Cool.
We had a customer's car on either the first season of Pinks or maybe the second, I cant remember. I didnt get to go as I was leaving to go to the bracket finals the next day after filming and I couldnt see any way I could get to MIR, then back home, then to track the next day.
And yeah, it was a lot of fun the first year and a half or so, then it started to become tiresome.

I'm 27 and work at a Yamaha/Polaris dealership. I have a bachelors degree in Aviation Management, with a focus on Air Traffic Control. I married a Navy guy and chose to put my career on hold since we were moving every year and a half. Now that he's out and we're staying put for a while, I'm back on track to pursue my dream job (ATC) as soon as the bids open again.

Good Luck! Just retired last year after 46 years, 23,000 + flight hours and around 10 years spent in hotels.
