I've had a handful of routine speeding tickets - mostly back in the 55 MPH era - all deserved and accepted gracefully. Two years ago my cruise control was set as usual to 68 in a 65 MPH zone when, unnoticed by me, the limit dropped to 55 as I crossed a bridge. One half-mile later, I got a ticket for 12 MPH over.

That was my worst ticket because I didn't even get to enjoy it!

Worst ticket imo, I was driving my 2007 Nissan Maxima down a highway and got pulled over going 57 on a 55 mph zone. I did have a slight attitude with the cop because he was being a little rude and had a power trip problem. I didn't pay the ticket of course and appeared in court to have the ticket dismissed. Judge looked at my clean record and the ticket I got and just dropped it. Cop didn't show up that day so... I've never gotten a ticket in the mustangs that I had and have now. Waze helps a lot and I don't typically speed.

I consider it worse ticket I ever got because who gets pulled over going 2 miles over the speed limit on a highway? Besides me :) maybe the cop was bored who knows...

worst ticket(s)...

exhibition of speed in a small Minnesota town of 30k people by a state trooper at about 8pm, after I lit em up at a stopsign in a 1982 Ford F-150 pickup.

1.5 hours, and 60 miles down the road...another ticket doing 85 in a 55, by the SAME TROOPER who had taken a different route to the even smaller town of 1300 people :rain:

funniest ticket...

a few years later during my Army days at Fort Campbell and 3 day weekend with 3 other guys in another F150 truck. I was the DD and the other three all had beers in their hand while we cruised the local “fishing” spot. Got pulled over (to this day no idea why) and by the time the cop got to the window, one of our three had jumped out the window but left his beer. Suddenly I was on the hook for DUI unless I ratted him out...to this day (25 years later) I still am not allowed into Montgomery County Tennessee

Racing on freeway when i was 17 in my boosted 350z vs a z28 camaro
Yes i fought it
Judge was gonna let me off if it would suspend my license but it wouldnt..so he said guilty.
The cop was an ass. Not because he gave me the ticket..but because he laughed when i was found guilty.

My first and only ticket. Knock on wood. Was over 300$ which is a lot for an alabama ticket.

When we first got shutdown in the spring for the COVID and the freeway became incredibly free of traffic...yee haw I got clocked doing 92 in a 55 on radar by a motorcycle cop....in my SUV to boot! My first ticket in 15yrs so a simple online driver safety course (took about 20 mins) and it didn’t go on my record. Fine was $350. I’ve only had 1 speeding ticket in all my years driving Mustang GT’s and it wasn’t a bad one. Pretty lucky.

Do warnings count? I got a written warning for 110 MPH in a 45 (IIRC) zone. Was actually north of 165 but he had to guess. There was this farm road with just bankrupted farms on it. I used it to road test mods. The drill was to take the road off the interstate, drive as many miles down as needed to confirm conditions and no life, turn around and make a run. Apparently, a Sheriff Deputy came over a rise, just as I was making the U-turn. I did my run and and was stopped at the side of the road eating an apple when I notice him in the distance coming like a bat out of hell. He comes sliding to a halt, gravel flying. He had some trainee with him. After much discussion and me not admitting to anything, he wrote me a warning for 110. It was apparent they initially thought I saw them and fled to escape capture. LoL

Where I am in Texas, I see people do 95 in a 70 zone every day. If you are doing less than 70 everyone will be passing you, and don’t think of doing less than 80 in the fast lane. But then you have the jackwagons that see a cop and they drop down to 60-65 for no reason.

The worst ticket I’ve had was not the worst I’ve sped, thank goodness! Probably the worst was in my early 20s. Wreckless driving and speeding all at one time. And a tongue-lashing from the officer.

They're only passing you to claim a kill in the "what did you race" thread.
