What's the optimal rim width for 275/35R20 tires?

I would agree the ride quality is lesser than say a 275/40r19, but a 35 profile on a 285 in 20” isn’t terrible. A 30 profile on a 20 will be pretty harsh for sure. All depends on what you like/want. I like mine but it’s a noticeable difference going from 235/50r18 in winter to the 285/35r20 in spring for sure.

One guy here got 285 NT555 nitto tires from 4Wheelonline and likes it better on his new 20" wheels.

If you have the non HP mach 1 wheels, they are 19 x 9.5 in the front. Ford uses the same size wheel for the PP1 wheels in the back, but the PP1 gets the same size tires F/R as a non HP mach. My point is Ford puts a 275/40/19 in the rear of a PP1 car on a 9.5 wide wheel, so you can put 275/40's on your front M1 wheels and they are 27.6-27.7 tall compared to 27.0-27.1 for the 255/40's

10” for a 275 is ideal. 9.5 works too. 10 also gives you the option to run 285s later.

Project6gr 5 spokes would be pretty sweet… if they’re in stock. In the past wait times have been long for P6GR wheels when out of stock. I have a set of Project6Gr seven spokes and still love em after like 5 years.

SVE makes a decent 5 spoke wheel too but its not as deep/concave for the same offsets, so if the P6GR works out for you definitely do that.

I would vote for 9.5" or for those. Lighter than 10, also 9.5" would be more protected by the tire on that size. I had problems running 305s on a 20x11 where the rim lip would get chipped up by pebbles because the tire wasnt wide enough to protect the rim.

Can always go with a 315 on 20x11, conti tires bulge a bit and protect the lip of the rim alot unlike nittos

305 Generals gmax 305s are fine they have a large rim protector, firestone indy500's were the ones that didnt protect the rim enough.
