So what is what is the actual size of the PP sway bars? Trying to compare as I was looking at the BMR ones and Steeda. If PP are similar size then what’s the real advantage?
Let me know if I can put you in contact with our suspension team - they can help speak to you about the swaybars & help with order support.

Best Regards,

TJ

I believe the Ford bars listed are the track handling bars, which I have. Very thick, blue and the front and rear are adjustable.

Yes they are, the street pack is the same as PP equipment.

The front black bar isn't a PP on in that pic. The PP ones you can't remove the clamp from the bushing nor can you remove the bushing from the bar.

Also on the PP clamp there's a bottom piece of metal fully surrounding the bushing. The non PP front bar the bottom of the bushing sits on the frame instead of being surrounded by the clamp.

Thanks for the help guys! I'm not quite sure which I'll go with...yet....Ford Racing, BMR or Steeda I can't imagine any of them would be bad choices. I'd like to have a nice combination between a street handling car and autocross. That's where I feel I'd use the car most.

Any of the three should be good, I love my Steeda set though. Steeda (4/3) and BMR (3/3) both look to have more adjustability than the FP set (2/2) as well.

Does comparing the OD of the bars matter much if they are hollow (which I think at least a few of them are)? Seems like the tubing thickness is probably not standardized across all of the different manufacturers so while two may have the same outer diameter, one might be much stiffer from having a thicker tube.

Good point and true....however I wanted to see what the difference was in overall OD for each of the ones I was reviewing to purchase.

The other area's would be tubing thickness and adjustability. It appears the BMR and Steeda ones may win in that category.

Tube thickness would be another area of interest...

And finally overall feel. Which ones are best across the board? Not to stiff for street but, stiff enough for track....

In the end I still think any of my 3 choices would work. But, if they all are about the same cost it'd be nice to see which might be the best bang for my buck based on what I want to do. Hoping to hear from others with similar type goals.

i know at least some of these are hollow...if not all? A solid piece would seem to add alot of weight and perhaps offset the stiffness gain.

I think they're all hollow, but not easy to find/substantiate claims on thickness or stiffness and whether those claims are based on compared to stock base or PP so I didn't put anything like that, just OD and part number so people could look in to them all properly.

Wait.

Ford/Performance started putting sway-bar 'stops' on their front bars?!?!

Nice! Good for them. I wonder how many tech calls they got about bars smacking around lol.

I am pretty sure, and will confirm....but here is some stock bar data off memory.

BMR - SB044 Front:

-35mm OD
-0.219" Wall Thickness

Stock Front:

-32mm OD
-0.185" Wall Thickness

GT350 Front:

-34mm OD
-0.224" Wall Thickness

BMR Rear bar is 25mm and 0.188" Wall....and the stock bars (non GT350) are also 0.188" Wall Thickness.

For some reason the GT350 rears I am not even remotely remembering their wall thickness. I wanna say they were just larger OD and same tube thickness - but cannot recall.
