I have a base V6, and am looking for a rear sway bar to run autox in F-street to get rid of a bit of understeer. Suggestions have been to run the Strano bar, but like most things suspension-wise, they are compared to the performance pack sways.

I've searched on this forum as well as the web, but I can't find information on the differences between the sway bars on the base V6, EB base, EB PP, Gt base, and GT PP.

Does anyone have info on this? Either diameters or spring rates?

Go out to your car and read the tags on the bars.

the thickness of them should be right on the tag.

Let us know!

As mentioned above, the GT PP is 22.2mm.

The non-PP GT is 21.7mm.

As for the front, GT is 32mm.

So based on this, what would be a good rear sway choice to get a bit of improvement, without making the car too loose? Strano bars are a bit stiffer than the PP, but the PP is a good bit stiffer than mine. Would buying a used PP sway be the best way to go?

I have Strano bar on the rear on a non-PP car on the softest setting right now and car definitely is not too loose. About to try mid setting soon.

Just noticed you have the GT, so your non-PP sway is 21.7 compared to my 20.0.

The Strano is a solid 22.0. That's gotta be a huge jump from a hollow 20.0...

I know -the easiest solution is to trade my V6 for a GT PP. That's the plan - as soon as my ex gets re-married. I'm telling my friends I'm going to have a party down the beach from the ceremony with a pair of binoculars - as soon as they kiss and seal the deal, I'm popping a bottle of champagne and hitting speed dial for the Ford dealer...

That's one way, or you could get a GT PP rear bar from one of the Ford parts stores for very cheap ($38 including the bushings) if you just want to try it out.

So I was emailing with Sam Strano, and asked him if his bar would over-stiffen the rear. Here's his reply

"The PP is a very thin wall hollow 22.2. We went solid but didn't want it too stiff like the 25mm bars that are common. Hence why we did it, and made it 3 way adjustable too.

If the front bar is the same 32 that the PP has, and it likely is given how Ford has done previous cars, then it's the bar you want. It's a bar, comes with the stuff to mount it. You re-use the stock links without issue."

I have one on order - just waiting for the call to pay him.

I'll update when I get it on.

Not yet - just put Konis and did alignment with max negative camber so want to try and see how it works tomorrow before I change anything else - also given how badly I spun out in the last run on a big course in Wilmington two weeks ago need to wait a bit - likely on a next on June 19th.
