I've had this for over a year and it works pretty well. I get the occasional random hiccup but nothing that would stop me from buying another.

Forgive my ignorance but what is the purpose of this device? And where is it mounted? Console?

On my car - 2019 GT - the only way to use android auto on the big infoscreen is to connect my phone to the USB port below the radio.

These devices plug into that port instead and let you use AA with no cable.

Does it just sit in the little tray in the center? Does it bounce around? I like the idea of wireless but would rather not look at it. Is the usb in the armrest storage a direct link similar to the one in front?
I could probably figure it out if I goog it. Lol
Ahow me how you did it please. Thanks.

I don't have one yet. Just started researching them the last couple days. The pictures I've located just have them laying close to the tray in front of the shifter.

I'm not sure if AA will run with my phone plugged in from the console but I'm going to test it. I'd like to have it setup similar to @WD Pro if possible.

AAwireless works fine, we have them in use with Ford Sync3 and GM Intellilink.
Advantage over the Motorola is the not permanently attached cable.
So you can choose a cable that fits for your mounting position (double sided tape).

In my Bullitt with that cable https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07HVX2NNF/ (lenght 9")

On my 2021 Mustang Mach 1, I connect my phone to the USB in the amr reset but it's annoying to keep connecting/disconnecting it all the time especially when you go for short rides like to the grocery store and what not.

AAwireless has a female USB-C connector, you can connect every USB-C-to-whatever cable you like.
Motorola has a short, flat profile pigtail with male USB-A permanently attached to it.
different plug in the car -> crap -> adaptor
cable to short -> crap -> extension cable
cable broken -> trash it

e.g. the recent Ford Escape has one USB-A und one USB-C for the SYNC3, if you want to use a USB-stick for music and the Motorola MA1, you need an adaptor.

I have seen a couple of cars lately that have those small slots, yes. Like your phone charging port. Then you need those or what Nightmonkey said. Since the Mustang had 2 USB ports I dont need them. Wiresless adaptor sits in the middle console and I am happy it came with a short cable.
