What to look for in a mid pipe

I did extensive research when choosing mine and this is the wisdom of the internet condensed down:

Sound:

x-pipe - higher pitched, possibly European and possibly raspy

h-pipe “deep”

performance:

both give less than or equal to 5% hp and torque

out of the two:

X-pipe - more hp less torque

h-pipe - more torque less hp

brand choice - mostly irrelevant

6 month follow up after people buy:

half - loud, but I love

half - I love, but I welded in resonators

If you go with an H pipe, I recommend Steeda. Using their mid-pipe made is much easier, as you do not have to cut the heat shields on the 19+ cars. Just a suggestion

Steeda's mid-pipes are an awesome deal and I love the sound of the x-pipe with the active exhaust! Purchase their midpipes and buy some reinforced stainless clamps as well bc their included clamps aren't the best choice for getting the alignment just right.

There ‘might’ be a chance of a false tightness with steeda’s clamps - very easy fixable though (check for burrs on the sliding surfaces) and I might have just got a oddball bad set
