So for the last 4 months or so i've been dealing with Ford's re-acquired vehicles team due to a lemon law case that I was approved for after I had a piston shatter. The dealership and service department all agreed that it had nothing to due with aftermarket anything so lets get that out of the way right now.

Anyway i ended up in a situation now where they're replacing my vehicle based on MSRP to MSRP and keeping my existing loan and just replacing the VIN on it. I have roush stage 1 ecoboost so that roush package brings my MSRP up significantly over a regular ecoboost. This has been nothing but a headache and a half in terms of getting them to accept the fact that the roush package is there and that they do need to compensate for it.

ANYWAY (again) I've been trying to get myself into a 401a gt premium performance pack roughly $2000 I would need to pay out of pocket to keep my regular loan but have a brand new car. unfortunately the car that i looked at was at a dealership that wasnt responding to the trade request from my dealership. the second one was at a dealer in maryland (im in nj) and after a week and a half of getting the paper work from ford RAV and the transportation set up and the trade accepted by the dealer in maryland, they sold it out from under me this weekend.

This process was estimated to take 2-3 weeks and has been going on for 2 months (since i was approved for the lemon law (even longer since the engine blew (january 22 2017)).

So i'm at my wits end now. Every time i need to make an interaction with RAV it takes a week minimum for an update. What do i do?

Should I:

A) Keep chugging along for a GT and just patiently wait it out, possibly demanding that they pay the $2000 difference due to the inconvenience I've gone through

B) Try to get them to pay the difference on a loaded F150 that is at my dealership so i don't need to go through the bs of trying to trade another car
5.0L

C) Option B with the new 3.5L Ecoboost

D) Fuck it. Fuck them. Lawyer Up.

Feel free to throw in your own Option E) Other.

You've waited this long for the GT... why not just wait a little more?

So would you agree that i should try to get them to scratch the difference in payment entirely after all this nonsense? I dont see why not honestly. i shouldnt even have to demand it they SHOULD just be giving it to me in good faith as an effort in trying not to lose a ford customer.

as for answering your question... Why not? Well number 1 would be going for a vehicle on my dealerships lot makes this possible. I say that in the sense that Nothing offsite has worked yet and it's been one complication after the next. Additionally I love the f150 and its definitely more practical than a mustang. I'm a 24 year old male with plenty of toys and works his ass off for them so being able to transport anything with a pickup would definitely be nice. Something like a Platinum F150 that comes in around $12000 more than my mustang would be great to have if i can force them to cover the 12k in lieu of their mistakes....

EDIT: For the record i was considering not adding option A to the poll because biased mustang forum. Obviously its a top contender.

I really doubt they will come off the price of anything more than $1000 to be honest. $12000 will not happen.

Does your dealership have any GTs in stock at all?

At your age, if you have toys n such, a F150 is FAR more practical.

Otherwise, have ford give you a loaner and order a GT that you really want.

Sucks the dealer sold your car. 4th of July weekend it don't surprise me though.

Lawyers can make a lot of things happen. The fact that it took over 2 months to get the car fixed let alone the extra 2 months of garbage ive been dealing with. Ford Corporate, BBB, Every Social Media Site, Forum, and review site, and news station will love to know about this type of situation. A potentially life long customer plus referrals brings in several hundred thousand in revenue at the cost of them paying out on 1 car, vs the hell i'd bring down and the revenue i would COST them to lose. I REALLY don't want to go that direction but i definitely will if i need to. I have several people that know me personally that are continuously asking me why I havent got a lawyer yet because of how in my favor this case is.

that said yes they have GT's, no they arent equipped how i want them to be.

GTs on website linked here.

I want a 401a performance pack manual. NOT RED nor black. i learned my lesson with new black cars. they're gorgeous for a day or 2 but they get way too filthy way too quickly. never again lmao.

Yes i agree it sure would be. I'm don't need a loaner i have my ecoboost back. this is just a customer satisfaction type of issue at the moment and my god they're losing it quickly. (or slowly... i mean it's been a very very very long and slow process but the rate at which they're losing me is increasing)

Yes i agree with that as well. As a dealer in maryland in the same situation my reaction to someone walking in with cash for the mustang that was already traded in the system to NJ is "f*** them we dont need a relationship for trade in NJ with 1 dealership. Lets make some money!!!" So yeah id do it too it just sucks ass for me.

No one could sell it from under you, and you will have plenty of time to square the paperwork.
And you will get exactly what you want....

They told me no when i asked 7-8 weeks ago. I'm guessing by now there's a chance. but im pretty sure orders are closed for my17 by now? Idk. I'm beyond fed up and really am looking for advice on what direction to take this. I know a laywer would chew this case up for me but again trying to avoid it.

A nicely equipped F150 is a NICE daily driver.

I have both, an F150 daily driver and Mustang sunny day car.

I love my 2015 F150 3.5L Ecoboost, its fast, drives like a car, and stops on a dime. The aluminum body made them perform great. Though I did get in to a little fender bender and it crumpled BAD, compared the Lincoln SUV I hit that barely had any damage!

Is it too late to order a Mustang? Or is that not an option b/c you're out of a car?

I'd love to have both. I'll mention again that I'm only 24 and have worked my ass off for what i have so far. 2 new vehicles is out of the question for sure. I'll keep just 1 and a beater (i have an 01 cherokee thats lifted and what not also for sale though)

I really need to test drive the 8 and the 6 and see the difference on the 2017s because apparently the new generation of v6 ecoboost is amazing. assuming i can get them to cover the damages of going up to an f150.

also no i can't order a mustang. they said it wasnt an option via RAV but couldnt provide a reason. again that was nearly 8 weeks ago when i started this process and it was supposed to only take 2 weeks sooo....

I have my vehicle currently. so thats not an issue. granted i have such a bad taste in my mouth for this 2.3l now that i dont even want to drive it... I have it and can commute to work which is the important part.

So your only options via RAV is to:

1) Give up your vehicle completely and take whatever cash refund
2) You can only get a replacement vehicle as long as it's on ANY Ford Dealer lot??

Is that correct?

I mean it doesn't seem you can order a new Mustang.

I believe so. Although that was just what I was told and not proven with reason or fact at all. Additionally that rule is in place for the typical RAV. I think I'm past that point given my timeline. Again the vehicle blew up in January. It's July and I'm still in it.

I'd rather a nicely equipped F150 crew cab with 3.5L Ecoboost, but those are like $47k+-. Granted in a month or so, the remaining 17's will be on fire sale pricing so you can probably get one for like $10k off sticker.

Go test drive a Luxury package F150 with remote start... remote start let it cool off, and you'll wonder how you ever lived with a vehicle that wasn't already started and cooled down (or warmed up in the winter).

my one and only regret about driving a stick shift. no one makes a remote start for our cars.

it doesnt matter what they will go on sale at its MSRP to MSRP basis as per NJ lemon law. theyre not giving me trade value for my car theyre giving me sticker +roush package sticker. and I'm keeping my existing loan with a different vin wrote over it.

Was your vehicle lemon'd before 24k mikes? Did you file through BBB or via a LL Attorney?
