Hi All!

Forgive the newbie question, but I read in the manual that ford recommends Motor Oil MotorCraft SAE 5W-20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil. Are you guys putting in full synthetic or the blend oil from Penzoil @smoke14me @gmupatriot

I run Pennzoil platinum full synthetic not synthetic blend. Penzoil also makes the Ultra Platinum which according to them is better in extreme conditions. However, for a daily driver I see no reason for the extra expense.

You can certainly run MotorCraft 5W-20 in your 2019 GT but thats not all you can use. As long its a 5W-20 API/SN rated oil and complies with Ford's standards you can use any brand of oil you wish. From personal experience, if you havent already, try to run the factory fill until 5000 miles at minimum. Then change to whatever oil brand you wish as long as its a 5W-20 or 5W-30 weight and stick with MotorCraft FL500S oil filter. Cant go wrong with this combination and your car will be happy and so will you.

Mag1 Full Synthetic but, thinking about switching to Quaker State Ultimate Durability Full Synthetic because Mag1 does not have the new API SN Plus symbol.

So far from what I know is that the after market oils do not have the new ford WSS- M2C945-B1 specification required for the 2018 and 2019 mustangs stated in the user manual.

Red Line Oil 5w-50 for motor, MTL for the tranny and 75w-85 for the torsen. I run it hard on the track at high temps (thunder hill in the summer :sun::sun::sun:) and the car responds much better than me sometimes.

Speaking of heat, if you run in high heat, try the water wetter.

My owners manual downloaded from Ford in July, 2018 for my 2018 GT states WSS-M2C945-A.

That's what I showed the guy I spoke with from Ford Performances, he came back to me with a PDF file with the upgraded oil grade. I can send you the PDF file if you want.

Thank you. No its all good I believe it. I did re-check the online manual and it still states the old spec.

6500 miles today and I changed the oil to amsoil signature series with a wix filter. Limited seat time thus far but appears to be a little smoother, more time will tell.
