Does anyone know what this is? Directly to the right of the airbox there is a connecter that goes to nowhere, it looks like the cable is routed back into itself. The car is a 19' GT PP2 that I bought used so I'm not sure if this is some kind of delete the previous owner did or if this is stock. The plastic is also melted, not sure how that happened but would like to just go ahead and replace it if I could figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated.

Looks like you have an unwanted rodent living under your hood that chewed on the end of the wires for the dyno/disable nannies connector. Do you get a message on the dash telling you that all traction control/ABS is disabled?

I don't get any errors or messages, the actual wire looks intact and must be working just fine then. Good to know what it is but I can't seem to find the part searching on google.

I did find what looks to be part numbers on it but searching this also does not provide and good results for a replacement part.

Might just be me, but does jumper/loopback plug appear burnt?

It might be melted but not sure what/why it would melt since there is no real voltage/current that is going thru that loop back wiring.

That's the fun plug. Unplugging it will turn the Mustang into a proper driver's car, as it should have been to begin with. You do first need to make sure you know how to drive it, though. 450+ HP on the rear axle with no electronic nannies isn't for the faint of heart. But it's great fun and unbelievably rewarding when you get the hang of it.

It looks more like the plastic is melted than it being chewed on. Not sure what could have possibly caused it and it was like that when I bought the car

You 100% sure it's melted? I noticed some stuff to the left of it next to both of the larger bolt/bracket areas that sure look like pieces of plastic.

I’m pretty sure that’s the Flux Capacitor wire, if you’ve hit 88mph and haven’t seen yourself 10 years ago driving a banged up Honda civic then it’s not working.

Thats why I initially thought it was chewed on by a rodent not melted. If melted there should not be pieces of it laying there.

If actual wire is still in good condition with no strands of copper showing, then I would just remove the plastic corrugated cover and use some heat shrink tubing to cover the wiring and be done since you stated that no traction/ABS messages show on dash.

I did that, but for neatness - mine came from the factory looking like a four year old had wrapped it …
